I was referred to Dr. Rupp by my chiropractor. I had severe pain with Plantar Fasciitis where I could not even put pressure on my right foot. By practicing his very clear and detailed instructions the pain began to subside, so I was at least functional. He started with non-invasive care first which helped greatly, but eventually I did need a shot in my heel to provide additional relief. At this point in time, any time my heel pain flairs up, I just follow the guidelines he provided for self care and I have not had to return since. A little thing called a Morton's Neuroma had me crying like a baby and limping around so bad I wanted to chop off my left foot. Dr. Rupp is a quirky old man with a great sense of humor that I don't mind getting a needle injected into my foot. He's sweet and knowledgeable. I don't know if every podiatrist can do as a gentle job as him. Like a great doctor, he recommends the least invasive and cheaper methods before costing your insurance company thousands of dollars for pricey treatments or surgeries. I've had a problem with deformed big toenails (a fungus infection) for many years. They also became ingrown. I finally decided to do something about it. My primary care physician recommended Dr. Rupp. It was a good choice. Dr. Rupp may come off sometimes as gruff, but he's basically a big old teddy bear. He cares about his patients. He explains what he is doing and why. He opts for conservative treatment. He could have performed surgery and simply removed both toenails. He took a slower, less painful approach. It's taken time, but he's gotten the job done. The ingrown problem is mostly gone. The new "improved" toenails are growing. Slow but steady improvement--that's the ticket. The two ladies on his office staff are nice. I know that they ask new patients about insurance--but what doctor's office doesn't. I'd recommend him and his office to anyone. read more

I didn't mind his odd sense of humor but one day, after being there a few times, he was asking me a question about my foot pain, and I guess I took too long to answer, and he said "You are jerking me around and I don't have time for this." Dr. Rupp just may be the perfect Doctor (at least for me at least). I called on a Monday and got a Tuesday appointment. I arrived on time and less than 5 minutes later I was in an examination room. His assistant came in almost immediately and jotted down all of my 'issues'. Two minutes later Doc Rupp was seeing me and spoke to me as an intelligent human being. He explained the whys of what happened and how to make it not happen again. Funny, gentle, professional and no nonsense. My highest recommendation! read more

Dr Rupp worked with me for a year to get my infected foot ulcer to heal It healed successfully and he signed my retirement papers, as I needed to get a sit down job. Both Dr.'s Rupp and Rhodes are excellent! I have been going to see Dr. Rupp for many years, and he performed surgery on my big toe and he's administered cortisone injections for nerve pain in the bottoms of my feet, all with excellent results!. He has also been making orthotics for me for years, also with excellent results. His staff is very friendly and helpful, and I really appreciate Dr. Rupp's jokes and sense of humor, and they even validate parking. Dr. Rupp is great for everyone, especially athletes and runners. He really understands what is going on and gives several options for treatment from natural to surgery and all in between. He was terrible to me and I lost my job because of him. And his staff was rude too! I was having repeated stress fractures in my right foot in the flat part of my foot near the toes (metatarsal area?) He suggested removing a very large bunion which he did. Three months later I was still having a lot of pain. I kept calling the office about it and the woman who answered the phone said in an annoying voice, "Well, nobody else who had a bunion removed has ever complained about it this long afterwards!" Like she didn't believe me. Dr. Rupp finally examined me and he said, "Don't worry about breaking it, just keep walking on it. You're just taking longer to heal." My job threatened to can me because I wasn't able to be on my feet for longer than 3-4 hours (I was a field rep supposed to be on my feet for 8-plus hours). I kept walking on it as Rupp told me to and it got worse. I had another stress fracture. My job fired me. Then he couldn't tell me what to do next. Nothing. Also, he gave me topical stuff for fungus on my toe. Guess what? Two years later a dermatologist told me it wasn't fungus. This Rupp guy acts like a jolly Santa but he's really a jerk. Didn't even care that I lost my job. Nothing to tell me about the repeated stress fractures. Can't work now. read more

This review is on two females on the staff and NOT on Dr Rupp. I identified myself and told them that I was referred to them by my Dr of 20+ years. The first female asked, "What insurance do you have?" She did not ask if I had an emergency or why I was calling. I gave her my primary and secondary insurance and she said, "the other girl would be with me in a few minutes because she was busy." I said Okay. After a couple of minutes, the second female came on and again asked me what insurance did I have and if I had checked with them (Insurance) to see if they would cover Dr Rupp's service? By this time I was a little bothered with all this concern about my insurances and not my ingrown toe nail which had it's own heart beat by then. I thanked her for her time. I then found another DPM who was more concerned whether it was an emergency rather than how I was going to pay. I realize that in this time and era every business is concerned with how they will be paid, however, there are other ways than just having no consideration and being rude. I was in pain and I would have gladly paid in cash if I has to. read more
