To review each staff member I encountered: The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming Melanie the hygienist was over the top kind and helpful. She explained every single thing she was doing in detail so that I was prepared and calm (I've had bad experiences with other dentists in the past). She was very gentle during the cleaning and incredibly professional. Kevin fit the molds for my teeth. He was welcoming, funny, and very careful to ensure that I was comfortable. He took his time making my molds and made extra sure they were done correctly. Great chairside manner and very professional. Dr Mike was the best. He listened to my concerns, reviewed multiple treatment options, and explained everything in a way that made sense to me. His prices are way beyond fair. Not only is he a stellar dentist, but a fantastic person. I went from dreading the dentist to looking forward to my next visit. We spent a good amount of time discussing the smile and he was thus able to beautifully correct my slightly inverted teeth. I have never been so confident in my smile and I have also not stopped receiving compliments since I got the veneers. The facility is clean and comfortable and they always have HGTV playing on the TV's which relaxes me a bit. Dr. Niki is nice and efficient. I don't feel like I've ever been pushed to do any unnecessary procedures and she is very thorough. All of the dental assistants have been very friendly and professional. They really talk you through the procedures and aren't annoyed if ever you need a break. I took off one star because I did have a billing problem once. At one point before the pandemic, I had to get a ton of fillings which were supposed to be sent to my insurance. Basically they quoted me incorrectly because my insurance had maxed out but I never knew the difference that I was supposed to pay out of pocket. After that, I continued to patron the place, playing for a teeth whitening 100% out of pocket and thinking that my account was all paid up. Just earlier this year when I went in for a cleaning I was told that I had a balance due because my insurance didn't cover all of those fillings from years ago. It was pretty frustrating because I was never contacted or sent a bill. Luckily, we were able to resolve it and I was offered a discounted payoff amount, which I appreciated because it was an error on their part and could have been dealt with a long time ago. Their new billing manager Kelse went over the entire bill with me more than once and I eventually understood/was satisfied with her explanation of things. Overall, I definitely trust CLE Smiles with my dental care. I sought out this business because I wanted to support a female dentist at the time and I am happy I did.

I don't mind reviewing soulless corporations, hard working small businesses and such, but this takes it to a more personal level. Dr. Chambers has been my dentist for about 13 years. And frankly, he has been a friend for almost as long. Business is business, but we did in time develop a genuine friendship aside from our professional relationship. And Dr Chambers being one of the cooler people i know, and me being in the hospitality industry, our paths crossed on occasion. And lucky for me that they did, as being a bartender/waiter for 18 years, dental care was not my biggest priority. Eating was. Paying rent was. Dr Marty, as I now call him, was well aware of the plight I, and others in my industry suffer. All said and done, I owe the guy a lot. He really saved my mouth from a dismal fate. I used to smoke, flossing was not a daily thing.... Methodical, fastidious, and fast. Dr Marty don't mess around. He gets the job done, tells you your options on your dental care and the ramifications of various levels of care. Fuckin A, my first dentist memory involves a drill that you had to pedal. With your feet. Like a freakin' antique sewing machine. (My parents were immigrants.) I also remember the x-rays being developed in a closet. Needless to say, I have emotional dental related scars. The drilling scene from the movie "Marathon Man" comes to mind. Dr. Martin Chambers. A helluva Irish Dentist. One last thing. He is also my 80 year old mothers new dentist since she moved to Lakewood. And she loves him. Carry on.
