History
Established in 1989.
In 1989, Mr. Doermer established his own law practice, and is president of Richard D. Doermer, Ltd. Doermer has lectured on family law issues, including methods of business valuation, taxation and divorce, pension/retirement plans,child custody and visitation issues for the Chicago Bar Association & John Marshall Law School and, he has maintained an active law practice since 1989. Mr. Doermer has been a member of the Chicago and Illinois State Bar Associations for many years.
In 2004, John A. Kay joined the firm as an Associate concentrating in Matrimonial & Family Law. John's main areas of practice are: Maintenance & Spousal Support, Child Support, Childrens' Rights, Custody & Visitation, Domestic Violence & Neglect, Family Law, Paternity, Prenuptial Agreements, Grandparent Visitations

In 2009, Olga Stambler joined the firm. Besides her Family Law practice, Olga has a strong background in Corporate Law and is fluent in both English and Russian.
Meet the Business Owner: Richard D.
Mr. Doermer was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1973 in Economics. Received his J.D. from John Marshall Law School in 1977. In 1989, Mr. Doermer established his own law practice, and is president of Richard D. Doermer, Ltd. During these years, Doermer has lectured on family law issues, including methods of business valuation, taxation and divorce, pension/retirement plans, child custody and visitation issues for the Chicago Bar Association and John Marshall Law School and, he has maintained an active law practice since 1989 with several associate attorneys.
Mr. Doermer is the author of "Transitions-Helping Children Through Divorce: A Guide for Parents." The book was published in three languages and 40,000 copies.
