Weiss Kunz and Oliver may be a fresh team, but Maxine Wiess Kunz is an amazing attorney…read more Maxine has 6 excellent qualities: 1. She worked with a big legal firm for years, knows all the judges, lawyers, and has garnered respect and is well-networked with other lawyers and Judges. She is up-and-coming and very well networked and liked. 2. She can skillfully present and argue a case. 3. She listens--to me, the Judge, the other lawyers. Why court is in session she holds the floor because she hears everything and responds accordingly. 4. She cares and is client-oriented--she is attentive to my priorities and my budget, and acts with these two things in mind. She was both my second lawyer on a protracted divorce settlement, and, later, she was my post-decree lawyer. The difference I have in priorities is reflected the way she represents me--highly appropriate to each situation. 5. She and Oliver are compassionate. They are not a standard legal firm. They are people, who care, and have chosen to forge a path that is both skilled and ethical. 6. Overall, the firm is CHILD-centered as well as YOU centered. Both as lawyer and GAL, Weiss Kunz reduces the confusion created by the civil court system and keeps you focused on the overall, healthy family picture. I am so happy Weiss Kunz and Oliver exists. She has left the big league for reason #4--she realized the higher she rose, the less able she was to work with her client's priorities and budgets. Now she and Oliver can focus on listening and hearing their clients better--with a wealth of knowledge, experience, and caring put forth in their partnership. Weiss Kunz volunteers for the Lilac Tree, is a GAL, and an actual caring person, even though she's also a razor sharp, highly skilled lawyer. This is a firm to consult!

Did not know that, and it was not disclosed until when the time came to show up in court, and she did not, someone else filled in for her, because of Covid. This was the very early stages of the pandemic and the virtual hearings were not set up yet. The lawyer that showed up, went in to the judges chambers with my ex-wife's lawyer, and a deal was made. What?????????? A bad deal for me. Then, Kasia went on maternity leave. She was replaced with someone who yelled at me on the phone. I was billed for phone calls made to my ex-wife's lawyer. I feel that if I am billed for an official phone call, I should be part of the discussion. Just like the documents, no documents should be sent to the other lawyer without the person's signature or approval. Which they did ask for my approval for every document. I ended up with about 30K in lawyer fees, all the marital debt, and child support, well higher than what the statutory would be. The law clearly states that the ordinary medical expenses should be covered by the child support. My lawyer argued with me that it does not. 750 IL CS 5/505 clearly states: A portion of the basic child support obligation is intended to cover basic ordinary out-of-pocket medical expenses. I am left with paying 60% of co-pays and 100% of medical insurance. I am being sincere, and not saying this out of spite, but I really felt like my lawyer did not have my best interest at heart. None of the three + Maxine who were involved in my case. Stay away at all costs from this place.

Facing criminal charges was one of the most difficult experiences our family has ever been through…read more From our very first meeting with Darryl Goldberg, we knew we were in good hands. Throughout the entire process, he demonstrated professionalism, compassion, and an incredible depth of knowledge. What impressed us most was the genuine effort he made to get to know my brother as a person, not just as a case. He took the time to understand his background, character, and circumstances, treating him with dignity and respect every step of the way. Darryl also showed tremendous empathy toward our entire family. He patiently answered our questions, explained the legal process in a way we could understand, and always provided calm, honest, and straightforward guidance. During such an overwhelming time, that gave us confidence and peace of mind. His knowledge of the law and the local legal system was evident in every decision. He was strategic, well-prepared, transparent, and never made promises he couldn't keep. We always knew he was fighting tirelessly for my brother while setting realistic expectations. Because of Darryl's dedication and advocacy, my brother was given the opportunity to move forward with his life. That is something our family will never forget. We are incredibly grateful for everything he did and recommend him without hesitation to anyone looking for an attorney with exceptional legal expertise, integrity, and genuine compassion.

Words will never capture the exceptional abilities of Attorney Darry Goldberg - but I will try…read more... If there is an Attorney Superhero, Darryl Goldberg is one. Darryl Goldberg is one of the best Defense Attorneys in America today. I am one of his successful cases. The DOJ Fraud Section in Washington DC prosecuted me in California. My prospects were grim. Other defendants in my case had previously received sentences of up to 8 years in federal prison from the Judge that sentenced Elizabeth Holmes. If only they had Darryl Goldberg, their outcomes would have been vastly different. I was facing 20 years in a Federal Prison. I was fortunate to have Darry Goldberg as my Attorney. Darryl Goldberg prevailed for me. He won. I received NO jail time. I am ecstatic, euphoric, I pinch myself daily to make sure I am not just dreaming. It was a high-profile case, one of the largest cases in American history prosecuted by one of the heads of a DOJ criminal "Strike Force" with a massive budget. My case was complicated. Darryl Goldberg worked tirelessly for me. He focused his intellect, knowledge of the law and experience on my defense. His work far exceeded any amount of money I could ever spend. I was up against a prosecution with unlimited funds. Only sheer talent prevails in a situation like this - Darryl Goldberg has that talent. In my first meeting with Darryl Goldberg, I felt hopeful. We were on a conference call with a former Assistant United States Attorney who recommended Darryl Goldberg take on my case. He previously prosecuted one of Darryl's former clients and was very familiar with his work. I learned that Darryl Goldberg's expertise in defense (even in the most complicated cases) has prevailed on behalf of his clients. He interviewed me thoroughly; he understood me in ways that I did not understand myself. He brought in experts as necessary and debated with the prosecution in a way that I received the best outcome possible. The outcome was beyond my hope and imagination. His submission to the court was exceptional, fifty pages of case law, citations, examples, legal arguments and ethical reasons why the Court should sentence me no prison time, even though the sentencing guidelines called for years and years in prison. The tone and quality of Darryl Goldberg's voice, his physical demeanor and style in court demand respect. Darryl Goldberg's final arguments to the Court presented points of law and case examples. He uniquely explained congressional leanings, popular beliefs and trends in legal thinking to help the Judge understand the Defense's position. The Judge found Darryl Goldberg's arguments compelling. Darryl Goldberg's unquestionable integrity, credibility, and respect - earned through his work and established as a reputation - gives him a unique advantage in legal negotiations, as well as in court. The DOJ prosecutor, head of the strike force prosecuting me, told me that I had "an excellent attorney." I highly recommend Attorney Darryl Goldberg to everyone. He saved my life.
