Their professionalism is unparalleled. Most recently, Raif Palmer helped me navigate a complex issue regarding adjustment of child support due to the ever changing nature of my family owned business. I have been divorced for 8 years and was surprised and delighted to see how things have changed due to new case law, and I owe it to Raif's superior knowledge in seeking an equitable solution to my needs. So often it seems that issues in Family Court get side tracked by the emotions of the parties and everyone loses sight of the goals. Raif and the team of lawyers at STG Law do not fall victim to that reality and they keep things on track to seek a fair and just outcome. I would recommend Raif Palmer and the lawyers at STG Law to anyone looking for top notch representation in Family Court.

Ian took the time to truly listen to our concerns, explain the options clearly, explain the law and build a strategy that was tailored to mom's situation. Throughout the entire process, Ian was consistently responsive, transparent, and patient with any and all questions. What impressed me most was his balance of strength and empathy. In the courtroom, Ian was sharp, prepared, and unwavering -- a true advocate who fought for moms' best interests. Outside the courtroom, he showed genuine care for all of us as a people, not just clients. Expressing empathy and true kindness when we needed it the most. That combination of legal skill and human compassion is rare . I highly recommend Ian to anyone facing a divorce or family law matter. He is not only an outstanding attorney but also a trusted ally. Weiss Kunz and Oliver may be a fresh team, but Maxine Wiess Kunz is an amazing attorney…read more Maxine has 6 excellent qualities: 1. She worked with a big legal firm for years, knows all the judges, lawyers, and has garnered respect and is well-networked with other lawyers and Judges. She is up-and-coming and very well networked and liked. 2. She can skillfully present and argue a case. 3. She listens--to me, the Judge, the other lawyers. Why court is in session she holds the floor because she hears everything and responds accordingly. 4. She cares and is client-oriented--she is attentive to my priorities and my budget, and acts with these two things in mind. She was both my second lawyer on a protracted divorce settlement, and, later, she was my post-decree lawyer. The difference I have in priorities is reflected the way she represents me--highly appropriate to each situation. 5. She and Oliver are compassionate. They are not a standard legal firm. They are people, who care, and have chosen to forge a path that is both skilled and ethical. 6. Overall, the firm is CHILD-centered as well as YOU centered. Both as lawyer and GAL, Weiss Kunz reduces the confusion created by the civil court system and keeps you focused on the overall, healthy family picture. I am so happy Weiss Kunz and Oliver exists. She has left the big league for reason #4--she realized the higher she rose, the less able she was to work with her client's priorities and budgets. Now she and Oliver can focus on listening and hearing their clients better--with a wealth of knowledge, experience, and caring put forth in their partnership. Weiss Kunz volunteers for the Lilac Tree, is a GAL, and an actual caring person, even though she's also a razor sharp, highly skilled lawyer. This is a firm to consult!

Did not know that, and it was not disclosed until when the time came to show up in court, and she did not, someone else filled in for her, because of Covid. This was the very early stages of the pandemic and the virtual hearings were not set up yet. The lawyer that showed up, went in to the judges chambers with my ex-wife's lawyer, and a deal was made. What?????????? A bad deal for me. Then, Kasia went on maternity leave. She was replaced with someone who yelled at me on the phone. I was billed for phone calls made to my ex-wife's lawyer. I feel that if I am billed for an official phone call, I should be part of the discussion. Just like the documents, no documents should be sent to the other lawyer without the person's signature or approval. Which they did ask for my approval for every document. I ended up with about 30K in lawyer fees, all the marital debt, and child support, well higher than what the statutory would be. The law clearly states that the ordinary medical expenses should be covered by the child support. My lawyer argued with me that it does not. 750 IL CS 5/505 clearly states: A portion of the basic child support obligation is intended to cover basic ordinary out-of-pocket medical expenses. I am left with paying 60% of co-pays and 100% of medical insurance. I am being sincere, and not saying this out of spite, but I really felt like my lawyer did not have my best interest at heart. None of the three + Maxine who were involved in my case. Stay away at all costs from this place.
