I very much like Dr. Stephen Peterson, my…read moreprimary care physician from this practice, but I have now had 3 separate issues with their billing department. 1. I was charged for a full 30+ minute visit ($255) for what was actually a virtual Covid diagnosis call, which should have been something like $25 as advertised at their office. This happened 10 months ago and I am still getting the run around from their billing department. I spoke to someone months ago who said she was looking into it and has never called me back. Their outgoing voice mail says they will return voice messages within 24 hours. They have not once called me back after 3 or 4 follow-up inquiries. 2. They charge a higher amount for 30 minutes-or-less visit, as they do for a 31-to-40 minute visit. If I schedule a 30 minute visit, and it happens to go over by a minute or two, I don't think it's my responsibility to watch the clock. I find it dishonest to let the appointment run over and then charge me more. The efficiency of the office flow should be on them, not the patient. I am not a difficult patient who sticks around and asks multiple extra questions. This happened on a different office visit than the Covid call mentioned above. Strike 2. 3. I just got charged a $25 appointment cancelation fee for a recent appointment I had to miss due to showing Covid symptoms. From my point of view, I didn't cancel the appointment -- they did! Of course, no once answers when you try to call and discuss (see point 1). 3 strikes, time to move on to someone else.

The rule is the doctor has to OK the appointment if you do not cancel. The appointment was cancelled because I went to the office the day of what I thought was the Appointment but it was the wrong day, so I did not see the doctor and I did not reschedule. However they did not document it as such so I am now listed in their system as someone who did not cancel their appointment and now they treat you like a criminal. In addition I received a letter to come in for a flu shot, when I called them To set up an appointment for the Flu shot I was told that I needed to go someplace else to get a flu shot because they do not give the flu shot, however I have a letter requesting that I come in for it. This was supposed to be a routine preventive screening -- my last colonoscopy was almost 10 years ago, I had zero symptoms, and I only did it because their office repeatedly reminded me that I was due. The operative report itself states the procedure was done for screening, not because of any medical problem. Yet Raleigh Endoscopy Center submitted diagnostic codes to BCBS, which automatically triggered a denial. When I contacted BCBS, they explained very clearly that the only reason this was not covered is because the provider coded it wrong -- and that the claim could be fixed if the center simply corrected the coding. When I asked Raleigh Endoscopy Center to correct the coding, they flat-out refused. No explanation, no willingness to review the documentation, no interest in helping resolve the issue they caused. They simply pushed the entire problem onto the patient. To make matters worse, they never informed me before the procedure that they would code it in a way that BCBS would not cover. No warning, no disclosure, no conversation -- nothing. Had they told me, I would have asked questions or rescheduled. Instead, I was blindsided with more than $1,500 in bills for a preventive screening that should have been covered at 100%. The clinical staff were fine, but the billing and coding department showed terrible communication, zero accountability, and a complete disregard for patients. Once they have your money, they do not seem to care about fixing their mistakes. A simple 10-year screening turned into months of stress, appeals, and wasted time -- all because Raleigh Endoscopy Center refuses to correct an obvious coding error. If you choose this center, be extremely careful. Double-check every code, every form, and every insurance detail, because if they make a mistake, they will not fix it -- and you will be the one paying for it.

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT TAKE ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT TO THIS PLACE!!!…read more I WISH with all my heart I could give this place less than a one-star review, for many, many reasons. the first of which being the following: My daughter (a survivor of intimate partner abuse, sexual assault, and molestation) was scheduled by the Social Security Administration of all places for a review regarding her disability claim. The FIRST problem was that the person assigned to do a PHYSICAL exam of a sexual assault survivor was a male who decided to abuse his authority as an examiner by threatening to tell the SSA that she was being "non-cooperative" because he kept insisting that she remove her clothing despite being told that doing so made her uncomfortable, for reasons he was well aware. Essentially, this MAN sexually traumatized my child because a woman dared to tell him that his actions were making her uncomfortable. When I asked to speak with the supervisor I was then directed to speak with the SAME "man" (more like beast, creature, or cesspool-dwelling animal, but I digress), who then proceeded to have an attitude with ME for demanding to know why he felt it necessary to re-traumatize a sexual assault survivor, to which his response was simply to shrug it off, because -- and trust me when I tell you this -- he will definitely make it a point to falsify a document to get my child's disability claim thrown out. And it doesn't matter that there's years of documentation and other medical paperwork to support her claim; HE was offended, and he will make sure she pays for it. To add insult to injury, when I asked the nurses (or whatever they are) at the front desk for contact information to file a grievance -- while my child is sobbing uncontrollably and was so physically upset that she almost threw up on the spot -- they LAUGHED at her. Laughed. This despite seeing how upset she was, and knowing exactly why. The evaluator also further caused my daughter harm by asking her to perform repeated physical movements that she already told him caused her physical pain. He didn't care. The only thing he cared about was exerting his power over someone he deemed powerless. He all but called her a liar, accused her of faking her traumas and disabilities, and when I asked him why he felt it necessary to behave in such a manner, he huffed, puffed, and left the room. No apology. No acknowledgment of his behavior, or of the pain he caused her. Nothing. My daughter CRIED the entire ride home. It took everything I could to get her to calm down, and now she's worried that because we're reporting this that he'll retaliate. I wish I could say that people on average are more professional than that, but I know better. I've said all this to say that if there is any other place for you to take your loved ones for medical "care" (read: abuse and violation of civil and human rights), then by all means, continue to allow these people to profit. If, however, you actually care about your health and safety and the health and safety of your loved ones, and you'd like to avoid potential sexual assault, then I'd definitely steer clear of this place. It makes me sick to my stomach to know that as a veteran I put my life on the line for people like this, people who support abuse, support bigotry and disability discrimination, and who are so confident they'll get away with it that they'll literally laugh in your face, when confronted with their crimes.

Although she is ordering an ultrasound to make sure it's not my gallbladder causing my health issues, she feels that the amount of aspirin I am taking (until the once-a-month shot my neurologist has just prescribed for me takes effect), is causing my extreme nausea and pain.
