I first used Red Tape Translation in 2012, and learned recently I was one of their first customers…read moreever. Back then, they were thorough, conscientious and knowledgeable. They were adaptable, easy to work and it was a straight forward situation as they had clearly defined services available. 12 years later, I had a rather emergency situation which I couldn't complete on my own, despite my German improving through the years, and my first thought is ALWAYS of Red Tape. Why? I recall also they have continued to supply great articles and helpful information, such as during Covid-19 Corona Pandemie, when many were scrambling trying to understand what to do as foreigners and freelancers, especially. When I contacted them again this month, I saw their website and services are widely expanded. When i searched the terms I knew before, I still couldn't find the service I remembered before. Despite being in an ER situation, I wrote a query and they responded within a timely way. Since I had given precise descriptions of what I needed, they were able to direct me to the booking type I needed. I can't say I would have found it on my own, but that was my limited terminology I believe. If someone is desperate and expect miracle workers, Germany especially, and any service is just not like that. I was not success in completing the task I needed, but not due to Red Tape, it was just the German system. Red Tape offered to and refunded my payment. Individual circumstances vary, time, date, schedules, offices, bureaucracy vary. Wholesale total lack of objectivity because someone didn't read all the information they needed to, and lack of recognition they are not the only customer is not Red Tape's fault. Red Tape has always been reliable, honest and upfront with me even when situations weren't successful. I would recommend it first and foremost beyond any comparable service center.

Maybe due to my bad German I did not understand at the time how they calculate their rate, so you should pay extra attention to it. He is a good loyer and knows what he is doing! I have consistently had good experiences with him. My case was a bit twisted and it wasn't looking too good when the process started. At the end the judge decided not guilty on all charges. I'm still super glad! Mr. Lehnert has a lot of justice expertise wich you will note when he fights for you in front of court. He cares about his customers and does not hold back when he debates with the state prosecutor. I was very impressed. I can highly recommend attorney Daniel Lehnert!

I hired Mr. Johannes Hofele from Breiholdt Rechtsanwälte to represent myself in a case against my…read morelandlord who wanted to move into the apartment he was renting out to our family. Well, the experience was a total disaster. Motivation. Mr Hofele was very energetic and cheerful until he got the money. After that I had hard time getting him on the line or having my emails answered. When he did get back to me, it was always like he didn't have enough time to talk or I was an annoyance distracting him from something more important. Ways of working. Everything about Mr. Hofele is poorly organised and totally unstructured. He never came prepared to a meeting, always trying to come up with a half-baked solution on the fly in the middle of the call. He always struggled to find the case-related documents despite myself keeping everything in a shared Google Drive folder and sharing a link with him multiple times. Each time we had a call, he spent good 5 minutes looking for the right document, failing, and ending up with "okay, I'll find it later and take a look". Mr. Hofele had to be constantly reminded of the legal deadlines because he was unable to keep track of them himself. One time, when I cautiously inquired about why we had nearly missed another deadline, I was told by Mr. Hofele that "I should consider myself lucky because he was on a vacation and didn't read his emails". Professionalism. While there was quite a number of eyebrow-raising moves on Mr. Hofele's side, the true pinnacle of his "professionalism" was the court hearing. Mr. Hofele was supposed to announce the date we we ready to vacate the apartment, and we discussed the date multiple times both by email and in phone conversations. Well, in the court Mr. Hofele managed to announce a different date. Since I don't speak German, I didn't catch that during the hearing and only was able to find that out after we got the written copy of the court's decision. For a moment I wasn't sure whether Mr. Hofele worked for us or for the other party we had a dispute with. Don't attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence, they say. Bottom line. I don't know if this is what Mr. Hofele has always been or if all of the above is the result of aging and declining mental capabilities, but I totally recommend staying away if not from the the company itself then at least from Mr. Johannes Hofele.
