We just had our entire second floor carpet installed and it looks phenomenal!…read more A&E Flooring was recommended by a friend and we couldn't be happier with the overall experience! Pricing was very reasonable. Scheduling was easy - Adam came out to do our measurements on a Saturday which helped accommodate my work schedule. I had given him a general idea over the phone of what I was looking for and he brought many samples for me to choose from. He offered recommendations based on durable and ease to clean along with maintenance and warranty information (having a Golden Retriever and wanting light colored carpet, I wanted to make sure we were covered and the carpet cleaned up well!) We ultimately decided to go with the higher priced per square foot carpet which was still less then the other estimate we received from another company! The carpet installers were friendly, professional, did a perfect job - I honestly am not even sure they stopped for a break! They removed our old carpet, moved our larger pieces of furniture and cleanup everything before they left. Would recommend A&E to anyone I know who is looking for flooring. We are looking forward to working with them on our first floor wood installation as our next project!

We selected Pandolfi Dante after a lot of research including the Delaware Valley Checkbook magazine…read morethat shops and compares vendors from the Delaware valley. We had 5 rooms, a hallway and some stairs to carpet. Pandolfi Dante was a fairly long drive for us - about 40 minutes, but we found the staff very helpful and attentive. They listened to what they wanted and showed us the products that matched our needs. We priced out several products at their site and they had a salesperson come and measure. He was very pleasant and professional (unlike some of their competitors). To gauge price, we went to a local provider, Bob Wagner Flooring, in Downingtown, PA. We asked them for the exact same product as that which we had selected at Pandolfi with the exact measurements that we had received from Pandolfi. Bob Wagner quoted us almost double the price we got from Pandolfi and tried to upsell us on padding. Bob Wagner's included padding is 2lb - Pandolfi's is 6lb, so in order to get a true comparison we'd have had to upgrade the padding for additional cost over the already-high Bob Wagner price. Further, when the Bob Wagner salesperson saw our reaction to the price and the padding upsell, she told us that if we came in that weekend when they were having a sale, we might be able to get a better price and she could talk it over with her manager. Wow, I thought I was buying carpet, not a used car. Needless to say, we were turned off by Bob Wagner. Because we were having some additional work done by a paint contractor at the same time, we had some special scheduling needs and Pandolfi was flexible with us. Their installers on the 1st day left a bit to be desired but we asked them to change some things and they accommodated us. They also forgot their vacuum on the first day, and asked to use ours, clogging it. This chafed me but the salesperson was very apologetic when I called to complain and on the 2nd visit they had their own vacuum. All in all, I think they took a very "do the right thing" attitude and I'm willing to give them a pass on the vacuum for the $2500 I saved. I'd definitely use them again and have been recommending them to friends and family.

Good points: The showroom staff was helpful and polite. The showroom is open on select evenings and Saturdays which was convenient. There were multiple hardwood flooring brands available on display making it easier to find the perfect color and style for my project. Scheduling a quote for the project was easy. A person visited my home within a week of me asking for the quote. The quote was available in a reasonable amount of time after the house was measured. The price quoted to me was comparable to other flooring companies I had researched. Financing was available through Wells Fargo bank. The process to get the financing was simple and only required me to fill out a short form. Bergey did the rest of the paperwork for the loan and then ordered the flooring once the money had been approved by the bank. The installers were knowledgeable, efficient, and respectful of my property and belongings. They were respectful of my neighbors waiting until 8am to begin their work which limited the amount of disturbance to others. Not so good points: Although the entire process was seamless, I felt like I did not always know what was happening at any given time. It would have been nice to have a bit more communication between Bergey and myself. At times, I needed to chase for information. In my opinion, I should not have to chase for information. Bergey should have provided the information more readily instead of assuming I knew what was going on at any given stage of the project. I highly recommend using A.W. I had a relatively small job - removing carpet and finishing steps and a landing. I met with the owner who mentioned if I was willing to paint the risers, it would save me some money so I said sure, I dont mind painting. The day after the repair, the job still wasn't complete. There are nails and staples sticking out of the risers and the top piece of wood is rough. I contacted the owner again and was told that was not included in my quote despite that the day prior he said it would be included in the repair. I now have to pay someone else to come finish the job. I do not recommend.
