Over the years I have had several large landscaping projects completed by the Team at Rice's and each time they exceeded expectations. Most recently we decided that we wanted to plant new larger trees in our yard and called several companies to quote. Kevin Rice was out within 24 hours and very was very helpful, offering many options regarding species, location, fall colors and size options. A little over a week later Shawn and his team arrived and we had 4 large new trees exactly as we discussed. They took extra care to protect our lawn and driveway from heavy equipment traffic by placing ramps on driveway and driving tracked equipment carefully as to not tear up the grass. We love our new trees and are 100% satisfied with their work. I normally would not give anyone 5 stars, but i could not have asked for a better experience. read more

I love this place. Quality help in the garden center. Quality plants, mulch, and seeds. It is not cheap, but quality stuff usually costs extra. For example, one year we wanted to save money and bought our mulch at a bargain discount place. We have more weed in our flower and veggie beds than ever before. If you're looking for a company that will give you a hassle every step of the way & inadequately follow through on their job, look no further than Rice's. I initially spent thousands of dollars for them to landscape my entire property & it was a pretty smooth experience when Andy was there. However, since I've had Shane taking care of me, it's been nothing but a headache. I've been trying since April of this year for several trees & a bush to be replaced. The bush was done, as was a tree (it since has died within a month), & the other tree apparently wasn't any concern despite my multiple calls and texts in May, June, July, August, September, & now this month. To top October off, I received a proposed invoice for over $600 via email for one Serbian Spruce replacement. While I'd like to think this is a joke as this tree is covered under the same warranty as my other tree that needs replaced, again, I know it's just the lack of attention to detail & quality of work that I've become accustomed to while dealing with every single staff member of Rice's. During my latest phone call with Jennifer, I was also told that Rice's doesn't replace trees in the summer time. This, further more, is yet another inconsistency in communication within the company. Do yourself a favor & go to any other landscaping company in the area. If Shane had been the architect for my initial landscaping project, I can only imagine how poorly things would have been done. read more

After reviewing the work and reviews of several of the area's leading landscape contractors, we interviewed the ones that we considered the top 3. Our deck in the back of our house was in dire need of being redone. Rice's Nursery presented the best plan . There crews were professional and courteous. Love Rice's - The plants I buy there are sturdy and guaranteed. The topsoil is dry and clean. AND when my tree guy come and drills out the stumps he is able to take the drillings to Rices, pick up the topsoil, and be back to the house...now he doesn't have to go back to Akron! Thanks Rice's! The retail store bagged items are a bit pricey but on the other hand everything except the animal deterrent worked! I have used the moss kill, many fertilizers, bulb protectant, meal for bulbs, Hollyview products, and more. Pam is sooo nice! read more
