It's worth it especially if you come often. There are plenty of seating and big umbrellas for shade. Favorite part about the pool is the adult swim time in Dolphin Cove from 11-12:30pm daily. The pool goes up to 5 feet deep and it's where we all walk in a circle creating a giant whirl pool. Sometimes I like to walk against the current for some resistance. There are also 3 lap lanes if you prefer to swim. Adult time is also at Splashdown and the pool is 12' deep. I see they provide some equipment and paddle boards too for water exercises. Ask the lifeguard office for it. When adult swim is over it's fun to see all the kids jumping in screaming, and the adults slowly making their way out. Hurricane cove is another fun area with whirl pool, gator crossing, fountains and sprayers. Nice place for all ages but it can get a little busy. The shallow end is a nice place to get your feet wet and catch some sun too. The red Sidewinder water slide is slower and curvier, which I prefer. While the yellow Pipeline slide is an enclosed speed slide. Another fun slide is The Bowl Slide. Round and round ya go than the slide drops into 8 feet of water! Diving area is at Splashdown, which drops into 12′ of water. There you will find a low dive, high dive, and drop slide. There is a concession stand for basic snacks. Pretzels, nachos, bosco sticks, ice cream, etc. They also sell sunblock if you forget yours. Bathrooms are decent with changing stalls and showers. Lockers are provided but you must bring your own lock. Plenty of free parking too!

This is an older pool, so it's not as glitzy as some of the other pools in the area. They have 1 water slide, a diving board, a sand pit and a great toddler area. The toddler area here is fenced in and has it's own pool which is 0 dept to 2 feet or so. There are lots of chairs here for moms to sit poolside. Off of the toddler pool is the sand area. I've spent lots of time here and there are always extra chairs and some benches. There are toys available here, I wouldn't bring your own because you will get a headache trying to keep an eye on them. Pricewise, this pool has a cheaper admission rate for non residents. It's $11.75 for an adult and $7.00 for a child. Sometimes the pool closes early due to swim meets and this pool opens later that Rice Pool due to swim lessons. Another important thing to know is that the kids in the daycamps at Northside Park, swim at this pool from 1-3 or so. This summer (2010) the camps are relocated due to work at the park, but they will be back next year. This pool is a great one to hang out with your little ones. If you have older kids, the slides at Rice Pool are a better source of entertainment.

However a simple pool they have all of the pizzazz and the new pools. They have great music always, a slide AND diving board. Kiddy pool AND sand box. The sand box is the original mine craft as the kids make rivers and lakes in the sand. Get your kids out of the house and have a unforgettable time here. Especially one lady with short hair who is always chatting with younger staff and barely looks up to check people in. other's area lifetimes greet you warmly when you enter but most of the desk staff is preoccupied here. Gym desperately needs cleaning- cleaning is done by internal staff. Mats are dirty and never see anyone wiping down weights or mats / although they have spray and towels for guests to use. Restrooms are dirty and need a deep clean and improvements -( behind the stall doors- need to be cleaned)! This location is 20+ years old and lots of newer clubs going in and send this one is being neglected. Speakers in the main group fitness room only work on one side and cut out in the middle of routines. Classes were great but they keep changing formats and if there are less than 12-15 in a class they cut the class. For the price being paid they should hold class even if 5 people sign up. So many trainers around for a fee but classes seem to be getting limited compared to the newer gyms. Still going due to location but it needs some love!
