The staff is super friendly. Something did not resonate with me about the prognosis I received and I found another holistic practice for a second opinion. Not only was original Prognosis not fully accurate, the cost would have been 1,000% higher than I ended up paying. I think Hazen can become a great holistic dentist once she's gotten more experience under her belt.

My insurance was a "high" plan with United Concordia. My wife and I had periodic maintenance in May and June, 2024 with no issues. In October 2024 I received an email saying I had a past-due bill of approximately $90. Since I had no outstanding bills I printed the email and went to the office to check it out. I was told there had been a "price increase" that wasn't applied to the last two visits. Since it had been so long they would waive the bill since I was a "valued customer" but price increases would apply to future visits. My wife's next visit was that afternoon. Her bill was significantly higher than what had been normal but I had been told to expect that. Three days later I got an Explanation of Benefits from United Concordia. It outlined the treatment for my wife and stated that we had paid the "out of network" price. I had always been "in-network" so I called United Concordia. They said Dr. Hazen had dropped out their network on 1 May 2024. Dr. Hazen's staff didn't tell me that, just that there had been a "price increase." A few days later I got an email bill for another $80 for my wife's visit. I went in and was told they had expected a particular procedure to be paid for by insurance but wasn't. I paid the additional bill and cancelled my November appointment so I could review my dental insurance options during my upcoming open season. When open season arrived I went in to Dr. Hazen's office and asked for which companies they were "in network." They told me United Healthcare. I changed my insurance to United Healthcare and rescheduled my November appointment for January 9, 2025. When I arrived I gave the receptionist my new insurance card and said I wanted to verify I was "in network" before my appointment began. The insurance coordinator came out and spun a story about how they were in network with some United Healthcare plans - but not mine, despite what they told me earlier. That was it. I'm done with Dr. Hazen. Her business practices and customer relations are abysmal. Insurance plans seem to be some classified subject about which they won't give you a straight answer. Time to find a new dentist.

I left after being seated the lobby for 50 minutes, and watched a patient get taken back before me after they waited just 15 minutes. I was a new patient that scheduled this appointment just two days prior to coming in. I have been experiencing on and off pain from the wisdom tooth, as well as hot and cold pains and needed to get in ASAP. I arrived at exactly 1 o'clock for my appointment (not a minute late). There were three people ahead of me, but were all taken back by 1:15. I was the only one in the lobby for about 20 minutes until another gentleman came in around 1:30ish. He sat for just 15 minutes before being taken back before me. When I asked the front desk why this occurred, I was told he had a different doctor and different work being done. Being a new patient, being in pain, and after sitting in the lobby for nearly an hour I felt totally disrespected. I am sure they did not do it intentionally, and their staff was friendly. However, I did not get the treatment I needed and I'm now going to have to go a few more days in pain until I get another appointment somewhere else. I'm not sure why I was booked at 1 if there were 4 other patients taken before me causing me to wait nearly an hour. Would I have had to wait another 50 minutes if I didn't approach the front and ask what was going on? It was just 5 minutes after I asked why I was not being seen that a dental assistant came out to take me back... Another reason I left was because I was told the doctor was still treating a different patient and would be a little longer before I saw her. So even though I was going to the back, who knows how long it would have been before the doctor was completed with their current patient? Once again, the staff is friendly and they do a great job answering the phone, scheduling patients and being friendly. But I personally am not happy with how I was handled at 1 PM on a Friday after being on time and making this appointment as a new patient for pain.

Dr Le installed a bridge on a tooth that I had mentioned was throbbing and uncomfortable totally…read moredisregarding my concern. Consequently, I had to have the bridge removed by another dentist at my expense. Also, I was offered a credit card through Dr Le's office so I could now afford implants. Implants seem to be the goal for Dr. Le, but not for me. I do not trust Dr Le and his ulterior motives. I was loud and clear that If my insurance does not cover it I don't want it done. However, I was constantly billed for one thing or another which I did not approve. This was a very stressful and painful dental experience as I had to raise my hand repeatedly for pain. And after multiple painful hand raises, I just had to sit up in the dental chair to stop him completely before I was able to receive more pain medication. Dr Le noted that I had become combative because I sat up and stopped him from torturing me. It was a terrible experience I'm sorry to say, but necessary to raise awareness of this kind of treatment. Beware of this Mt Dora Modern Dentistry and Dr Le. Thank you. Do not recommend.

He wanted to cap a tooth of mine that he claimed had a cavity - without fixing the cavity. Which is dangerous! He wanted to replace all the caps in my wifes mouth - THAT WE LEARNED FROM ANOTHER DENTIST WERE PERFECTLY GOOD! He is the worst kind of predatory dentist.

They offer sedation options which has been a lifesaver for big dental jobs, they accept most insurances, do payment plans (3rd party) and have wiggle room for payment. We've left and didn't pay and paid 4 days later due to a block on our card. Appointments are decently easy to get, the front waiting area and restrooms are always so clean. My only complaint if it really is one is they're ALWAYS behind. Not by like 15 mins, but by 40-to an hour. Which I'm glad they spend the extra care and time with you but it is stressful sometimes if you have other appointments etc.
