Our 9-year old son wanted some American food while on vacation, so we decided to try Ribs after seeing it a few times riding the Metro. Place has a good Americana feel to it like a Chilis or TGI Fridays, but the decor was a bit everywhere. There were beer signs from European countries and Canada and numerous other signs and elements that didn't exactly fit in the "Original Texas Steakhouse" theme that's on the marquee. Also, we expected to hear country music or southern rock, but instead were treated to slow jams and duets from the 80s...not bad, but not what we were expecting. Haha.
But alas, we didn't come here to line dance. We came here for the food and the beer. And this place does this adequately. Beer was cold & cheap and the hot wings actually hot. Ribs had good smokiness flavor from being flash grilled. That was the good. The bad is that the wings were dry, like it was cooked a long time ago. The burger was tasteless (worse than VIPS unfortunately) and the bun was dry and literally disintegrated. Also wished the ribs were fall of the bone tender, but it wasn't. Our son did enjoy his BBQ wings.
Overall, food was mixed and service was average to above average...about what we expected. read more
