Ribe with not more than 9000 inhabitants and founded in 720 is the oldest city in Scandinavia. It is situated in southern Denmark about 5 km from the Nord Sea coast built on a few islands in a small river in a landscape totally flat. That's just the beginning. This small city has preserved its past in a way you very seldom experience. Nothing left of course from the 8th century, but from 11th century and forward. With impressing consequence the people living here have decided and implemented a dream; to let history live in their daily life.
