So many improvements, too. When we left Ajijic at the end of February 2025, they were renovating the restaurant 'in town.' What a lovely surprise to discover the renovations to the temporary location. Fantastic job! That's the only thing that's changed. The food, service and staff are as excellent as always. The steaks, cooked precisely as you wish, play a starring role, accompanied by a delicious demi corn on-the-cob and a baked potato, as classic as it gets. Nooks and crannies make you feel like you're eating in your best friend's dining room deep in Mexico. The open kitchen allows you to smell your future and the confusing menu will make your ask a lot of questions, but it's all part of the charm. Order a few cheap bottles of wine and enjoy this adventure. Most of us opted for the beef and I suggest doing your calculations a little more accurately than we did and don't overestimate your hunger as the portions are huge. Massive lumps of beef weigh down the table and every bite seems to be followed by a chorus of "oooohs and ahhhhhs."
