The swimming area also consists of a viewers seating area, a slide, and a 'rapids' area. Swimming lessons are also available, as well as options such as 'ladies only' night. Waterworld also has a fully-equipped gym with changing rooms and showering facilities. The gym currently uses the TechnoGym products, and all are in great condition. The gym isn't huge, but caters for everybody, and all staff are helpful and friendly. There is also a studio where exercise classes take place. Classes are very varied, from yoga to dance, and all instructors are friendly and helpful. Something to suit all tastes. When not exercising, Waterworld also have a cafe just inside at the reception area. This is a great local facility, and if the changing rooms were a little more loved, updated, cleaner, and tidier, I would have no hesitation to give Waterworld 5 out of 5.

The centre has been here for nearly 30 years and was greatly underused except for the many football parties I went to as a kid! Now the gyms are kitted out with state of the art gear, there are regular fitness classes for all levels in the sports hall, two decent sized astro-turfs can be found at the front - and if they are not being used by the local kids they seem to attract a lot of 5-a-side - and a good size pool with sauna and steam room. I can't really knock the place because it is well cheap and is obviously doing a very good job at placing itself at the heart of the Garston community, however, this also measn that the place can be very busy at peak times and it is often very hard to judge when it will not be full of kids! The pool always seems to have school groups or out of hours swimming clubs. While this commendable they also seem to find their way into the gym and will often hang around - or off - much of the equipment! But there is a waterslide!

Went to the leisure centre today to go swimming in the pool but found that the staff were really…read morerude and unhelpful. I was doing some amazing backstrokes down the middle of the pool when I bumped into something hard and sticky. It was a turd, floating along the surface of the water. I screamed, 'help! I'm being attacked by a turd!' I tried to swim away but it kept following me. In shock and panic, I began to lose balance and started to drown. I pleaded for someone to help me but I caught sight of the lifeguards, smoking and playing cards on their highchairs while laughing. I passed out. When I woke up I found myself naked in the carpark outside in the middle of the night alone. I'm giving one star for the turd in the pool. Hygiene has gone out of the window with this place.

The pool has been closed several times over the last year or two, for a couple of months at a time for major repairs. The changing rooms aren't always very clean. The gym is very well equipped, but more often that not the air conditioning is broken.

The gym facilities are excellent and there is a range of equipment and activities for everyone, including a full timetable of classes. We particularly enjoy the swimming facilities. There is a large indoor pool with clean well maintained changing rooms. There are steam rooms and whirlppol spas. The best bit for us is the outdoor swimming area. All safe and supervised with views of the canal. I can highly reccomend a visit to this gym and we have had a family membership for a long while which we have certainly had good value. There is a creche so you can attend a class without your child and pick them up when you have finished. My only problem is that the toilets never seem very clean both inside the pool area and in the reception.

This is a great place or families and woudl be a great venue for team building…read more The adult cost is a little pricey considering you are just parking the car, but it is a great day out. Make the most of it and take a lunch, you can really spend hours here.
