Well, I have called the bar referral service several times and have been criticized by their staff that they have referred me to more than three lawyers. Apparently, they think I am a pain in the ass. But the lawyers they refer me to 1) Do not return my call. 2) The answer on the phone is go get another lawyer before they hear the case. 3) This lawyer does not litigate, and I must have someone appear at a hearing 4) They referred me to a lawyer who lied in my face at the 5-minute free consulatation. Also, he wanted money up front without a contract to appear at a hearing when I did not know what he was going to try accomplish at the hearing. My problems are sundry, and I need lawyers in more than one area. My question is when this is true do you just call firms? That would be good advice from legal referral because I don't want to waste any more time. And I do not want to waste the referral's time. The judge handling one issue is becoming impatient because I don't arrive with a lawyer. I just called legal referral and got the voice mail. Maybe they blocked my number. I do not know if they will return the call. Please advise if you do. read more
