I wanted to see this new sculpture of a Rhino in the RiNo Art District when I visited Denver, and I did!
It's name is Rhingo. You can find him at the corner of 29th & Arkins Court, just off the South Platte River Trail. It's located in a place called Demargo Market which is a neighborhood comprised of living spaces, offices, bike paths, play areas, splash pad, dog park, picnic areas, event lawn, fire pit, sport courts, & community garden.
This is a 30 ft sculpture of a rhino with a brightly colored lower area. The top is unpainted weatherized steel while the lower parts are painted all-weather climbing panels. If you want, there are rock climbing holds for you to use if you want to climb it! Rhingo is hefty, weighing in at 22,000 pounds! The largest real life rhino weighs 7,000 pounds.
He just turned 1 on the day I came, 09-13-2026. They had a big party celebrating him! I had no idea when I showed up an hour after it was over. Good thing, because there was parking available.
I came at around 3PM, but wished I came closer to when it got dark out. Rhingo lights up inside at night and that would have been cool to see! read more
