After just moving to the Necedah area in 2004, we did not know any of the places to get the services we needed. So it is hit and a few misses too.
In 2005 we decided to pave our gravel driveway and had several contractors give us estimates. I believe that getting several estimates gives a person the opportunity to see the company representative and in many cases, the owner. I like to get a 'feel' for who I'm doing business and spending my hard earned money with.
After getting several estimates, we decided on Rhinehart construction to do the job. Our drive is almost 270' long and needed a wider area in front of the pole building for vehicle maneuvering. I also wanted just a 9' wide drive for two reasons. One being cost, the other being a minimal impact on the rural nature of my property. When the crew got here, they went right to work. But the on site 'boss' suggested that they put a 10' wide drive instead of 9'. The reasons he gave were sound and I listened to his advice.
Now, almost 14 years later, I'm glad I did. The drive is still very functional. It has several cracks, but then even before the did the job, they told me it would crack...always does. I noticed that highway projects crack too, so I wasn't all that concerned and have kept the cracks filled with a crack filler to prevent freeze/ thaw problems.
These fellows worked well together, no bickering or snipping at each other as I have seen on other crews.
I would definitely recommend this company! read more
