Love this school and the community. My son started here at summer camp 2 years ago when he was aged…read more3, went to the Preschool at age 4, and is now in the Kindergarten class at age 5. The nurturing he receives from the teachers is very caring and holistic. They are interested in learning not just about my child, but about his family and his environment outside of the school. In a world where electronics are so prevalent and societal problems like bullying exist, I am thrilled that he is spending these integral years of his life immersed in nature and being fostered in an environment where daily activities like baking bread, making soup, gardening, and taking care of animals are done together and enojyed as a group. He is encouraged to collaborate with his classmates and to express his creativity. I never give a moment's notice or worry about him when he is at school . I know he is being well-cared for and I can see for myself how happy he is and blossoming in this environment. As a parent, there is nothing more important.

My kids are both thriving after having been home with me for a year and a half during the pandemic and a big move upstate. PHS has helped them adjust more than I could've hoped. We are very grateful for this experience.

Our kids were in their pre-K program, and we were impressed by what they were doing during the year. We were even more impressed after the kids "graduated". At their kindergarten orientation (for the parents), we were given a list of things that the kids would know by the end of the year. The Lucas Ave. Montessori pre-K program essentially taught our kids the entire kindergarten curriculum. In other words, our kids have a great start on their education, thanks to the Lucas AVe. Montessori.
