I got a mortgage with them. The whole process they couldn't be less communicative. They kept passing my application off to someone else, had three diffent people and then ended up back with the first person. They sent the disclosure before they were done with it and never sent over the updated version because, and this is an exact quote "we aren't required to". Took three voicemails (never returned) and two ignored emails to finally get ahold of them to tell me how much I was actually supposed to bring to the closing. Just use quicken or really anybody else read more

If I could give a zero for this bank, their service or more importantly their lack there of I would. Tried to get the correct pay off information for my car loan. Called twice and was given the incorrect information only to be told there were unknown late fees on my account that I was not notified of. They added those supposed unpaid late fees on an auto pay account according to them at the end of the loan which is unheard of. Matt you should reconsider why you work in customer service because it is not your calling. You are rude, condescending and nasty. It is no wonder why there are so many negative and poor reviews for this bank and don't think I haven't reported it to the better business bureau and consumer affairs. Despicable. read more

Unexpected Account Closure and Loan Reversal After Providing Proof I applied for a $5,000 personal loan with Rhinebeck Bank. The first application was denied for "not enough credit history." I then provided proof of a paid-off auto loan that Rhinebeck Bank had issued to me in the past, which they confirmed existed in their system (but was not showing on my credit report). After I provided proof of the paid-off loan, my application was approved with set terms. The next day, the bank reversed the decision and denied the same loan due to "misrepresentations" -- even though the bank acknowledged that the payment history they saw came from a third-party credit company, not from me. Shortly after, the bank closed the checking account I had just opened and sent a cease-and-desist letter. I was never accused of creating false documents -- only that the bank received them from another company. Based on my experience, I feel the bank handled the situation without clear communication or fairness. I would recommend anyone applying for loans here to document every step, because decisions can change suddenly without a clear explanation. read more

I try hard to practice what my parents taught me, you have nothing nice to say, say nothing! Check the other reviews out, some are exaggerated and some on point. I'll share the claim of community bank is a false claim. I feel more sense of community from a big box bank. Branch staff should be prepared to service any banking situation from account questions to simply filling a change order. Clients shouldn't be turned away or made to wait to fulfil banking needs. read more

You people have been charging me $2 per debit transaction when I'm being forced to use debit instead of credit at A LOT of different merchants. All of these merchants have NO problem with any cards besides yours. I have been charged over 30 times in a month. I was only given back $20 of it. Your employee Nicole thinks I should've noticed the fees and it's my problem. She also let me know that no one is forcing me to start the mortgage I was just approved for through you and let me know who to call to cancel it. As of this weekend, I'm now not able to pull money from YOUR ATM!! This is complete fraud and I have a list of people started that this is happening to as well as me. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau since no one will return my calls and your holding my money from me. read more

Jim Mcardle and his crew are absolutely amazing. I started a lifelong business relationship with Vince L back in 2002 and have experienced a level of service that is unprecedented. From Vince to Liz and now Brandi; everyone in the group is amazing. Over the years in business together some have asked me why I chose a smaller regional bank for my businesses, family and other personal needs. Well now the shutdown has led to the need for gigantic assistance with the government loans and the neigh sayers are still waiting for the "too big to help" banks. Unfortunately, many of our good small businesses locally are suffering as these giants are protecting themselves and forgetting about the small and mid size businesses. Instead, Jim and his crew have made it their mission to assist the region. Do your research and you will find that these loans give little profit to the bank and come with tons of work (probably why your big boy banks are refusing to help you) My recommendation to you is to switch all of your business to Rhinebeck Bank. The short term consideration you give them will be repaid ten fold with a level of service and commitment you will never find with those too big to care organizations. Lann Rubin II read more

Sadly what used to be a great little bank, has become no different than the huge conglomerates. I would highly recommend going with someone else. read more

After discovering that the mortgage product we wanted to apply for was only offered through…read moreKeyBank, my wife and I had the absolute pleasure of working with Susan Regan as our mortgage loan officer! Being first-time home buyers, we didn't know what to expect. There is a lot of stigma around mortgages and banks, and not having ever been customers of KeyBank we really were going in blind! We expected a joyless, uncomfortable experience and prepared for it...imagine our surprise when we walked into our appointment and met an upbeat, friendly person like Susan! Susan is always smiling, very personable, and extremely knowledgeable. We felt comfortable with her immediately after our introductions, she is a people person and she really has a mind for numbers. She answered every single question we had, even sometimes twice when we forgot the answer, but she never was upset about it thankfully! Susan worked with us to figure out a good price range we could afford, explained everything involved in a mortgage from soup to nuts, and put them in terms we found easy to understand without ever making us feel dumb about it! She also worked closely with our realtor from the time we got the pre-approval, and she was in touch with him and our real estate attorney during every step throughout the buying process to make sure we were all on the same page. We don't know how she managed to juggle all of that, but she did! The whole process could have been long and painful, but thanks to Susan's hard work it wasn't! She is a real class act, and was always available by phone, text or email whenever we had a question or needed advice. She worked her magic to make sure we got the best mortgage product for us, at a good rate and she even surprised us by coming to closing with a little housewarming gift! We wanted to jump up and give her a hug, but at the closing table we might have looked silly... Susan is an all-around rock star, she worked so hard for us and really made the whole mortgage process as stress-free as possible. We would recommend her to absolutely anyone in the Hudson Valley who is looking into KeyBank for mortgage options - I only wish there was a Susan at every bank!

Transferred to Shoshanna, who was so condescending and rude that I was at a loss for words and hung up before getting anywhere. This woman spoke to me as if I had called the bank to get free money, accused me of being irresponsible and "not keeping track of my own balance" and didn't seem to have any useful information to provide. Definitely switching banks after a series of horrible customer service experiences here. Shoshanna should not be permitted to speak with clients on the phone, or should receive training to at least attempt to disguise her callousness and impatience. Unprofessional and a really poor reflection of company values. Where does a lower-middle class person with 4 jobs and a Masters Degree turn for financial guidance?? Not here, obviously.
