I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis/sciatica with severe pain in one leg when walking and often…read morewhen trying to sleep. Options were to try physical therapy, one or two epidural injections in my spine or surgery. Physical therapy didn't help enough. I was afraid to try the epidural as a friend told me when she had one she almost levitated off the table from the pain. I did a lot of research and came up with a number of doctors for chronic pain in the Maryland/DC area who were recommended by other doctors or friends. One name kept on being mentioned: Dr. Aneesh Singla. In trying to decide which doctor to go to, I called offices and asked to speak to the doctors. Some doctors rushed through my questions and concerns or never even answered them and some never called me back. Then my physical therapist told me he took his mother to see Dr. Singla for an epidural. He described how caring and kind Dr. Singla was with his mother and how he used the most up-to-date techniques to make sure the procedure was done in the most pain free way possible. That clinched it for me. Before making an appointment I spoke to Dr. Singla on the phone to discuss my questions. He spent all the time needed to answer my questions, explain how he does the procedure and reassure me. Our conversation reinforced all the positive comments that the physical therapist had said about him. When I arrived I was greeted warmly by the receptionist. The office was busy but every staff member took the time to treat me kindly and with respect. I cant say the procedure was completely without pain, but by numbing the area where the epidural would be inserted, the shot itself wasn't painful at all. Toward the end, I was obviously uncomfortable with the medicine being injected. Dr. Singla told me it would be over in 3 seconds, and he counted the 3 seconds aloud which REALLY helped. The next day Dr. Singla called to see how I was doing and told me what I could expect to happen next in terms of noticing improvement. I can't fully describe how fortunate I feel to have chosen him to be the doctor to do this procedure. If you need help for chronic pain, I would immediately call Dr. Singla's office and make an appointment. He is knowledgeable, professional and truly cares about his patients.

DON'T do any treatments or surgeries before consulting with Dr. Singla! I battled back problems for…read more20 years when I finally gave in and decided surgery was my only option left. I was barely walking. I consulted with 4 surgeons. The first was ready to operate with no confidence I'd be any better. The 3 others all insisted I was not a candidate for surgery and told me I'd have to live with the pain. Needless to say I was disappointed and depressed. Fortunately one of the surgeons requested a additional test from a specialist named Dr. Singla. With feedback from all 4 surgeons I nearly canceled the appointment with Dr. Singla. The test was simply to pin point where the majority of my pain was coming from. I was convinced not to proceed with surgery, but went to my appointment with Dr. Singla anyway. To this day I'm not sure why I went, but at the end of the procedure Dr. Singla simply said to me, I think I have a non-surgical solution that may help you. I tried to tell him that I've done the steroid shots, and even had platelets treatments, and they all wear off in a week or two. He explained this was a different procedure. One no one else had mentioned to me before. I figured, what did I have to loose? Soon I wouldn't be walking at all. That was 4 years ago. I see Dr. Singla for continued treatment about every 6 months. I know not everyone has the same results, but I've been 100% pain free for most of the 4 years he's been treating me. Of the times I haven't be perfectly pain free, the pain is very minimal and manageable. I often recall how limited I was 4 years ago. Now I play ball with my kids, get the yard work done, and even exercise. I have a life thanks to Dr. Singla. I've also found that everyone I've met with back pains or problems also haven't heard of the options Dr. Singla has to offer. None of the doctors I saw suggested such treatments, none of the countless friends, family, and total strangers had ever heard of these alternative options. The bottom line - I highly recommend you consult with Dr. Singla before you decide on any procedure and especially before trying surgery!

Initially, I wrote a Google review so positive they quoted me on their website. Unfortunately, as time moves on, things change, and so for the good of those seeking help, I've decided to update my review to reflect the current reality. Particularly over the last year, Avesta has sought to rapidly expand, and things have seemed to dramatically decline. Staff turnover became commonplace, and finding enough staff to service appointments seemed to become a struggle. Worse still, the care became very inconsistent. I started having a lot of problems with IV's not being properly done, or the NP not even being able to insert the IV catheter. It got to the point where I was actually afraid to go to my appointments. Each week I was essentially receiving an infusion from a stranger, some of whom were really not very good at their jobs. There were times I didn't feel safe when I had to go alone. Once, I pressed the emergency button, and nobody came. In order to have any impact on the underlying depression, mindset during a Ketamine infusion is critically important. I found more and more that my infusions stopped working. As existing problems continued and new problems arose, my concerns fell on deaf ears. I even contacted Ladan Eshkevari with the help of my therapist to try to explain concerns around my treatment at her clinics. She didn't seem to want to hear about any problems. Every time I tried to talk to her about it in person, she shut me down. As the problems continued, I became more disinclined to express concerns because she always became so defensive and combative when I did. My epiphany that care is less important than profit to Avesta came recently when I woke up very sick one morning. I was so ill I passed out and fell on the floor, with a horrible headace and vomiting. My husband insisted on immediately taking me to Urgent Care, but I was supposed to have an infusion appointment that day, so I texted "Dr." Eshkevari to let her know why I wouldn't be there. Her response was to insist that I still pay the full price of the treatment I didn't receive. Finally, I put the "Dr." in quotes when referring to Ladan Eshkevari because, while she does hold a PhD in physiology, she is not a medical doctor, and I feel like Avesta is sometimes a little misleading on that point.

The staff is so caring and always pays attention to you. All the NP's are wonderful and take their time with you, they always check on you and call a couple days later to see how you feel. They are very attentive with Rx's if you so need them. From Dr. Eshkevari, Deborah, Sam, and Stephanie (office manager) to all the NP's, Tanya, Madison, Lauren, and Sam as well as the Med Techs like Christian who I've had the pleasure of having. They always work diligently to get my IV started and explain everything to me. I've been going for 6 months now and look forward to a long and fruitful relationship. They've taken me from a pain level of 8-9 down to a 1-2 and at the highest 3. To me they are angels. So if you're looking for Ketamine therapy, look no further. Convenient office locations in Bethesda MD, DC and N. VA thanks to each and everyone of you

I can't begin to say enough positive things about Laura!…read more However, I will start with, she is an amazing, gifted healer! From the moment I met her, she presented herself with a welcoming, kind, compassionate and calming presence. She truly listens and hears what your issues and concerns are! I had been diagnosed with a sprained rotator cuff, which was not only painful and limiting, but draining me of my energy! Although I love my primary care doc, his solution was to put me on heavy duty anti-inflammatory meds, which can be hard on your liver and have side-effects as well! I am not a stranger to acupuncture and was able to get an appt near where I live... I was fortunate enough to be seen by Laura.:) I had recently lost my husband, which Laura took into account with compassion, as well as my injury. I hope I am stating this correctly, but she explained that grieving can also contribute to the injury healing and that you hold grief in the left side of your body... the sprain is in my left side. Laura started with a 'clearing'... which I can only explain as "getting rid of my junk" ... I felt revived when leaving that day! I continued to see her for several more appts. I'm happy to say that my shoulder has improved 100% from when I had my first treatment, as well as other issues I had been having! Now for some gentle strengthening exercises. ;) I will continue to see Laura for monthly overall maintenance. I know there is more 'JUNK' to work on! ;) THANK YOU LAURA ROSE, you were, and are, a Godsend to me at a very difficult time in my life... Angels are watching over me! :)

Practitioner is lovely and skilled. Nice space as well as reasonably priced. Will go again.read more
