Have been to Rexford's Jewelers several times for my watches, such as batteries, leather bands and removing links from metal watch bands. They are reasonably priced and always polite, helpful and efficient! Have not purchased anything so far because I don't have anything to buy, but will definitely keep them in mind if I do need to buy some jewelry or watches. They have a nice selection of merchandise. Very dishonest. I was interested in purchasing a new white gold chain to hold a locket, as well as sell an old broken white gold chain. I wanted something sturdier. They tried to suggest that my chain was sterling silver, which it was not. Then proceeded to get annoyed when I asked for my chain back. In addition, their prices are unreasonably high. read more

Several years ago my wedding band got bent while playing baseball and needed to be reshaped. I brought it to Rexford and they fixed it and refused to charge me. It was really nice of them to do this so this weekend we finally were able to go back and given them some real business. We had two batteries replace in watches and had my wife's engagement ring recoated with white gold. They did a great job and we waited only 30 mins for this. This jewelry store is very prejudiced and judgemental. I have brought my family several times to look at their selection and each time was a different response. This last time however was the end of it for me. There was no customers in the business. I Asked about a few pieces in different settings with diamonds and styles and each time was spoken to as if i have no idea what i am speaking about. I asked to see what my own piece was worth,, i gave it to one of the associates and they came back and handed it to me like it was trash,, as well as they told me a number that was roughly 1/3 of the value. I know it was because of the way i look and this type of discrimination is ridiculous. I asked to see a piece similar to my own,, which was not only hallow and 1/6 of the weight but the same price they told me my own was worth,, then while weighing it was talking profusely with the other associate about me and why it was not important about weighing it and that i wouldnt buy anything anyway,, came back to where i was and proceeded to tell me that buying and selling gold are two different prices. obviously i know that and when i called ahead to just ask what estimate they could give on the karat and weight to buy they,, were very insistent in needed to see the piece in order to judge when in reality im asking about the gold weight value. By the end of my visit (all in all about 15-20 min of browsing) and insulting my intelligence and esthetic which is being with my hair braided and having tattoos and being overly insecure aparently,, all of the male staff were out of their office and standing close by and which i felt uncomfortable. I would not ever recommend this place to anyone as they are VERY overpriced,, cheap quality all in all,, terrible customer service,, and judgemental. read more

They did the job just fine here when I brought in a watch to have a couple of links removed. I walked in and waited to be helped. There was one person helping lady and the other employee was just standing behind the register reading papers. It was quite a few minutes before he asked if I needed help after I just stood behind the lady being helped. Finally the guy behind the register asked if I needed something. We decided for two links to be taken out and he told me to come back in a half hour. I am surprised he didn't take my phone number down or anything. It made me feel uneasy leaving the store without my information recorded in case he would forget me. I shopped next door and when I returned the watch was done. Such a quick and easy visit! Located right in the Lake Success Shopping Center, parking was very easy to find. Upon arriving into the store I was kindly greeted by an employee. I had two watches that both needed their battery replaced, costing $6 each. I also needed to get a few links removed from one of the watches, which was $7. They did just such a lousy job that I came in to this store to correct their mistake I showed it to the man he said it will be a few minutes he fixed my ankle bracelet when I asked him how much do I owe you he said no charge. I brought a gold bracelet in to have a link removed and when I came back to pick it up there was a visible divot and scratch on the link and the clasp was flipped. I explained that they damaged my jewelry and that they actually reversed the clasp when they put it back together. They told me they understood the problem and would fix it, after yelling at me. I come back a second time to find that they only buffed out the dent they put in the bracelet and they still had not fixed the now reversed clasp. I basically paid $35 for them to ruin my bracelet. Go somewhere else, they might be a "neighborhood" jewelry store but they couldn't care less about the quality of service they provide, never coming here again. read more

Awful experience. Brought my watch in for a new battery and instead they cracked the face of the watch and refused to pay to repair it. The repair woman yelled at me and asked if I expected it for free. Before she started repair I told her it's a Michele watch and the battery change can be tricky she claimed it was fine. They kept the watch after they broke and got a price quote from Michele and even after I asked if they would split it with me they still said no. I left with a new battery and a broken watch. I had a great experience at Rexford's and would definitely go back there again. The staff seemed really honest and genuine, and I could see that they had many returning customers coming in and out. They took their time helping me, and never rushed me. They definitely treat their customers well regardless if you buy or not and I appreciated it. Great place. This store is AWFUL! Went to replace a couple of watch batteries and came out with two damaged watches. The SEIKO watch was cross threaded and no longer waterproof. The other watch, an ARMANI went in without a blemish and came out with a gouged back that now scratches my arm when I try to wear it. Customer service is non existent, when I returned and pointed out the damage, they claimed there was nothing wrong with either watch. There was no attempt to put the back on the Seiko properly and they offered no recourse for the damaged watch. DO NOT GO THERE. They are incompetent and will damage your property. read more
