I was a little weary at first of how 15 minutes could help--don't I need more time?!--but it was perfect. Tim was so kind, but also very direct and wasted no time getting down to business. He obviously spent time getting to know my position and who I was ahead of time and had actionable items and feedback. I have utilized other resume workshops before, but honestly never felt like my time was utilized well or gave me specific feedback to improve. Definitely an opposite experience with Tim. I now know a few tweaks to add in to improve my resume despite having a job that didn't fit in to the examples he provided, but nonetheless very helpful. I would suggest their services to anyone wanting to get an edge up on other applicants.

Tim was amazingly brilliant, dynamic in our call. He connected in a very real and warm way. He helped me get very clear about next-steps in my current resume and then take steps in transforming my resume to a good one. Investing in taking time to talk to Tim was worth it. I got the resume revision service, and it was definitely valuable. I consider myself to be not too…read moreshabby when it comes to making a resume, but their comments helped make my resume even better. The revisions I got back made some formatting changes that made my resume easier to read, which is important if you want yours to stand out from the rest. There were also suggestions on how to better organize my resume. What I found particularly helpful was that I received revisions from more than one person. It was nice to have a couple sets of eyes on it, especially from someone who was already established in a similar field as me. Many of the comments were on things that I wasn't even aware that I was doing. The comments they gave weren't just directed at how to make my resume easier to read and more organized, but they really focused on what would make ME stronger as a candidate. This meant that I had some areas of my resume that I could expand or improve on that would make me more likely to be picked for a position. Very helpful for taking a honest look at yourself, which I think is the whole basis of a strong resume. I highly recommend Lucent Education, if you want that edge on the competition and want to polish any of those rough edges, they are more than capable of giving you that support!

I went to Sorella Design with a vague idea of what I wanted in an author website, but was…read morecompletely at a loss as to the design of the site. So I trusted them to build a site that would promote my writing and look professional, but also user-friendly and fun. Sorella Design sent me a contract that stated the site would be completed in a month. I sent them articles, photos, and text for the site. And sure enough, a couple days before the site was to be completed (per the contract) they were finished and I had a beautiful website! What really stands out in my mind is that Sorella gave me tools to do even more than what I set out to do. They suggested I have a blog on the site to promote my future book. I didn't argue with this idea and thought it would be a good idea for something down the road. But then as they worked on the site and suggested putting the blog on the homepage, I started posting things just to fill up the space. But then I got the idea to continue where I started and use the blog to write about my family's travels to Asia and other places overseas in the 1960s as well as my early travels 20 years ago. I wasn't sure how people would react, but I received many positive comments and even suggestions to write more. Even people in the publishing world have commented favorably on my blog. If it wasn't for Sorella Design, I wouldn't have thought to have a blog. My site is www.susanbkason.com and I love it--thanks to Sorella Design!
