Some reasons why I love this place are: 1) Mrs. Sheila( the owner) because she is so nice and inviting. 2) the overall vibe of the place and people. Even though its small and it's just her, everyone there is so kind and the vibe is fun and beachy. 3) in the back of the shop, there are so many free snacks like chips and candy and drinks. So if you are in the area and in the mood for fun vibes and a haircut, come to Sheila's Strong Styles Salon, I hope you love it!

He asked me what color and I said french tip and he looked at me like I was crazy then tried to make a joke like we only have American here. I laughed and at first thought he was joking I asked him to make the water a little less hot and he said he felt sorry for my husband because I was being too much. I came to get a pedicure for my wedding and Sam made this experience really bad instead of being nice. He also told me I was making his back hurt just a horrible experience. Women come to the nail salon to have a nice and relaxing time, NOT to deal with men who don't know how to treat women. He put his hand between my legs without asking me if it was okay. I understand I had a skirt on and he was trying to fix it but he could have communicated that before or asked me to do it myself.... I took my mom there to get her nails done ready for her anniversary and he ruined the experience and our time there together. I will never go back there EVER AGAIN.

Unfortunately, this time I saw Robyn (the manager), and the experience was disappointing. I asked for scissors, but she used clippers, and the cut ended up uneven on both sides. There was very little communication throughout--no check-ins to see how things were looking--and overall it felt rushed and inattentive. I know everyone has off days, but this was not the level of care I expected, especially from a manager. Hoping for a better experience next time.

Her husband, Lynn,…read morebuilt it for her after the birth of their twins so she needn't pay for child care when they were small. You drive down the driveway and park under one of the old pine trees, and walk in. There's only one door, and usually Joan is deep into conversation with one of her long-timers when you walk in. They both greet you, and often, if you know the subject of the conversation, they'll ask you for information. It's painless and good-natured and soon you'll be drawn into the discussion. She's got lots of magazines. She sold Redken products the last time I was there, and uses them in her color and styles. The little shop isn't even online; when you pay her in cash she gently pulls bills out of her bag that she's got in a half-opened drawer. She keeps track of everything in an appointment book, and that's where she tallies her payments. Did I mention that she can cut hair like nobody's business? When she cuts your hair you don't need product and all that nonsense. You just need your fingers to smooth it into place. When I got a haircut there she recommended a Redken mousse to make it fluffier, but you don't even need that. But Redken mousses smell good and don't dry out your hair, so just go crazy and get a can. For Heaven's sake, when you're driving down Highway 60 through Burna, stop and get your hair cut at her salon. You'll get Joan's company, a great haircut and you'll be supporting a one-woman business.
