Pyramid scheme/ MLM. They sell you insurance basically. If you want to put your finances in the hands of someone with zero financial education who paid $200 for a 1 week course, have at it. I would suggest going to a professional with a finance degree. When you don't want their finance help, they try to get you to work for them since that's how they make money. If you're a female they try to use phrases like " empowering women" " don't you want to stay home with your kids" and the usual fear mongering tactics " what if your husband dies". If they really wanted to empower women they wouldn't be trying to get you to screw over other women while simultaneously screwing you by roping you into their nonsense. Contrary to what I am seeing people write, this is not a pyramid scheme. You get paid via the agency's marketing budget. You are provided with an education and have the assistance of others 24/7. You can also trump your mentor, in success (you can't in an MLM). You offer families a free financial analysis. You research and come up with recommendations. If someone is not interested, you thank them and ask them to keep us in mind, if they know of someone else who may need our services. This company is run the same way that a real estate agency runs. If it's not for you, you don't leave with left over product, you leave with a license. You have the opportunity to work elsewhere with that license. I am a general business major with a minor in finance. recently interviewed with some reps in R.F.M. & I urge others to read into some red flags of a pyramid scheme type recruit/sales pitch. here are some red flags I experienced: Their lack of value of education that isn't directly from them (telling me the material I'm learning in University isn't worth much). The language used was mildly hurtful and demeaning. when asked what I'm looking for in jobs I used the words "stability & job security" to which the R.F.M. rep responded "every time you used those words I wanted to throw-up." read more

I was actually recruited by two Nurses that were in a nursing support group online. It was from a group on Facebook. I lasted two weeks before I woke up and saw that this was an MLM. I avoid them. For some reason, it was sneaky...and I didn't have my guard up. The people that contacted me did it based on a post I made in a nursing support group. I feel targeted. I was trying to get support due to a tough day and a shift I had. I was messaged about a job opportunity. At first, it looked harmless, or so I thought. Then my gut started to talk. Listen to your gut and say NO to these people. I have a financial planner, and he is licensed and went to school for it. He will manage my money. NOT these folks. The company focuses on helping the average American save money towards their retirement and/or financial goals. People are hurting right now, financially. Theirs a cancer out there. I was helped by the company and I started saving $150 dollars a month. I have both life insurance (300k coverage) and I invest part of the 150 into the the S&P 500 and other global markets. They help you save money in vehicles that allow you to pull money without penalties at any given time, while also helping you save on taxes in the long run when you pull out your savings. 401k plans and alike, WILL tax you later and your saving will deplete faster.. the company will help you in many ways. It amazes me how many people are so blind to this stuff and rather bash on companies who are actually trying to do a good deed. Reach out to an advisor at Merrill Lynch, or Charles Swab, I DARE YOU. My wife and I had the chance to sit down and begin a savings plan when we first got married. We didn't know or where to save at the time; only investing in our company 401k programs. We were able to set short term savings, long term savings and insurance. The grossest misuse of the words financial planner. No high grad with no formal college education or formal training is investments (I.e stocks, bonds, hedge funds, etc) should ever call themselves an financial planner. They sell insurance. If you have any doubt, look up their license online when they come to do business. We had a lady who use to run a daycare from home and her "associate" who works minimum wage at a fast food restaurant full time try to sell us insurance as a means of retirement. Of course they are part of a pyramid scheme and only make money through sales. Lol! It's that ridiculous. Anyway, they try to paint a pretty picture... They say things like an IUL will make 1-15% a year in interest. They state you can take out the money any time... What they don't explain is that if you take out the money before 15 years, you'll pay more in fees than you made min interest. They also don't explain that the first year you won't make any money in interest because all your money is for premiums and paying all those people their share. So really, that 1-15 will be negligible given the fees. Just do your homework. Don't fall for stubborn, pushy tactics. If you have money to invest, invest it wisely by doing your homework. read more

The agent I dealt with was truly interested in what was best for me... not what was best for him (like, what would give him the highest commission). He gave me a free financial analysis. Let's be serious. Free? Yes, it was. Even though I'm already retired, he was able to find the perfect financial "fit" for me. Through the experience, I gained greater peace of mind because of the safety net he helped create. If I could give this negative stars, I'd give it negative 5 stars. I have a young, ambitious neighbor that just had a baby. He's probably feeling a lot of pressure to provide for his family. Unfortunately, he is involved in this pyramid scheme cult that is called Revolution Financial Management. He asked if I would be willing to meet with his supervisor, so they could teach me how to manage my finances, free of charge, and that if I feel they could help 12 of my friends, family or co-workers, if I would give them a list of names and phone numbers. When I actually sat down, what they really wanted was for me to open a retirement account which would be taxed now, under the assumption that tax rates would only go up. He wanted to know how much money I make and have saved, which I didn't share with him. I looked up their website, and it has no information about the product they are selling. They over use key terms, such as "family", "team work", "strength of character", "revolutionize" and "vision", but absolutely nothing about the actual product, which ultimately is another retirement account that you don't need. And you certainly don't want to pay taxes on it, now when you are in a much bigger tax bracket than you will be when you retire. I hope my neighbor will be able to see what he's getting involved in before it's too late. Beware, folks. This is an unethical business. read more

Do you know that your financial planners (those people with the initials after their names) are captive and have quotas??? If they don't close their applications their income gets greatly reduced or they could even be FIRED. Revolution Financial Management does not have quotas, nor are they captive (meaning they will guide you to the product that THEY make commission on). Revolution gives options to their clients.
