She travels back and forth between home (MN), California, and New York just to do hair. It's safe to say she's got loyal clients all over the country! She's a master colorist and if you look at her portfolio the proof is in the pudding. Mmm....pudding. I figured after 4 years it was worth updating my review after making the big leap from natural to red (again)! I still love Samantha as much as I did the first day I came in as a new client. She always makes you feel right at home and is quick to give you advice on the look you're going for. 98% of the time I walk out of there feeling amazing and the very few times I haven't been so sure she was quick to make it right, with a smile on her face. For instance, this time, the first two blow dries after my color the red was looking a lot darker than planned (my hair REALLY pulls red, this is no fault to her skill). Despite being one of her last clients of the day (and the fact that she had a date to go on that evening) she didn't hesitate to make sure I absolutely loved what I was walking out of there with, date be damned, and we got it lightened up to the perfect shade. My only criticism, if any, is that she often overbooks herself and can be working on as many as 3 clients at the same time. Despite this, her time management is great and she gets it all done. But, Sam, girl, you gotta give yourself a breather so you can take care of yourself! Order the Jimmy Johns, woman! Don't hesitate booking with Sam but just know she's a busy lady and your experience may be a hair different (no pun intended!) from being in someone else's chair. Just go with the flow, be clear with what you want, let her know if something isn't quite as you wish (if applicable), and sit back and relax! Well.. you may not relax too much because Sam has always got some sort of amazing or gut busting story in her pocket.

I had to sit in a salon for over 4 hours removing the horrible color she put on my roots that were pretty damn close to black. I only asked for a refund two days after I got my hair done because the stylist fixing my hair said it was one of the worst color corrections she's had to do and told me I should get my money back! I said but you told me it would be $250. She was not professional at all and breeched her verbal contract. (It also says $250 on their website) I have a civil claim I can pursue. On arrival, it was a pleasant surprise to see she does this out of her apartment (a nice one) and has everything on site. I was absolutely dreading a 5+ hour appointment in a typical salon setting lol. This was so much better, being in a home type of setting, very comfortable, and to top it off kitties!!! We talked about what I wanted done, she color matched and prepped stuff, and I watched her tutorial videos until she was ready. The best part, I got to stream movies and shows on her tv throughout the entire appointment. Epic. Fast forward 5ish hours, breaks as needed. I'm mind blown. I was absolutely stunned at the results! I had very damaged hair, she fixed it right up, and it looked all natural. She cut/styled at the end too. Idk how she does it, but I cannot say enough good things. I seriously could not have had a better experience. I will go out of my way, again, to go back to her for adjustments and whatnot in the future. These are super easy to take care of, and they actually made my hair grow out with a minimal amount of damage. My real hair has never been better.
