I even took a buddy of mine to a class, who attends a different gym, to check out how amazing the environment and instruction is with this location. He couldn't stop talking about how technical the instruction was and how great the team members were. This school is part of a network with some of the best gyms in the State of New Jersey. Professor McHugh, Coach Tony, Coach Pete, and Coach John are all extremely well versed in BJJ and have a true gift for teaching the technical side of BJJ. Positions and submissions are broken down to the basic elements with steps to ensure understanding prior to moving on to more complex technique. This gym offers a beginner class with Fundamentals and then continues with intermediate and advanced Gi classes. No-gi is available as well, but Gi is the majority of instruction. But the teachings itself was great. The kickboxing class and jiu jitsu class only had a handful of students on your average weekday. I learned a lot in those two hours and have a whole new appreciation for those who practice this sport. My neck was so sore the next day. Special thanks to the guy that was my kick boxing partner and the guy that slammed me to the floor and put me in that neck submission for bjj.... all really eye opening. Everyone was nice and welcoming. If you do decide to join, they have the 3, 6, 12 month options. You'll be paying the most if you go with three months, about $180 per month. Plus the initiation fee which is pricey. This is also Not factoring additional equipments you may need. If you're financially able to, I think it's worth the investment if you're looking for a new hobby or looking to try something new.
