I would highly endorse him. I've recently seen Dr Dean after a successful knee visit 6 mo ago for another injury to the same knee. I find his bedside manner pleasant, decisions very logic based on data and experience, and just finished a mri to decide my best treatments going forward. I would repeat this again the same way and look forward to my follow up... as I said Data and experience driven diagnosis. I chose to writ this due to the bad posts. sometimes surgery doesn't go perfect as each person is totally different. I suggest looking at other ratings outside of yelp with 6 ratings -not a good statistic. most good outcomes don't get rated..... an overactive 69 yr old male that probably doesn't know his age.....lol.... and if you're u comfortable with a Dr... find one you like and is successful for your best odds as nothing is ....guaranteed....

About a month later, I went on a family cruise, lifting luggage and my 14-month-old grandbaby repeatedly each day. By the time I got home, the pain was much more severe and had moved from the top of my shoulder down my bicep. I could no longer play tennis with the level of pain and weakness in the arm. I called Dr. Dean, who didn't return my calls until the 4th attempt, and told him that my symptoms had changed noticeably after the cruise and frequent baby lifting. He said it was just the arthritis and that it was referred pain down the arm. I insisted that the pain was of a markedly different quality and intensity, yet he did not so much as ask me to come in for a follow up, arrogantly stating that he had been doing this for decades and was telling me it was just the arthritis. Long story short, I went to the Hospital for Special Surgery in NY for arthroscopic surgery. Turns out, aside from the arthritis, my bicep was completely shredded and hanging on by a thread!! Dr. Dean should be less ego-involved and listen more closely to his patients, instead of assuming he knows everything and is always right.
