Goodwill isn't my first choice when donating items but we had things in the truck to drop off. This Goodwill has a drive-thru which makes it extremely easy. I am writing a negative review on the leadership of Goodwill donation center sarasota pkwy…read morelocation. I worked there as an attendant, but after only two days, I quit! The trainer they call she is a keyholder, kind of shiftlead position, her name is Ambra Stephen. She is lazy, petty and very mean. The place is covered with dust everywhere which triggered my sore throat, runny nose. When another keyholder came and suggested Ambra should do a deep cleaning at the place, she also told me to keep using a rag to clean the dust everywhere. Ambra took it as an offense, when seeing me cleaning., she gave me the firty look, and then she forced me to operate a dolly with five totes which I was not able to do, it was my second day. When I told her I was told by another trainer I could transport 4 totes with a dolly, this Ambra Stephen got nasty and said words to insult me. I quit right on the spot. I never recommend anyone to work at that facility, a very filthy, nasty place with a nasty so called shift lead to run it. If there is option of zero, I chould give zero star rating for that place.

I can absolutely buy most of the items brand new for the same price or less. I'm hesitant to write a review but I am unable to give them feedback on their Facebook page and feel they need to hear from typical shoppers that they are pricing out a great percentage of their potential patrons. I do know they have sales for specific color tags, but those are very few and far between. Even then, a 50 or 75% off price is what the item should have originally been marked for.

When I think of food donations - my mind always goes right to the holidays, will families have…read moreenough food to enjoy and make merry the seasons. And it goes without saying, that applies to toy donations as well - all little boys and little girls should have toys. Behind the county Meals on Wheels was another charitable donation center - Manatee Food Bank and as I pulled up, a friendly fellow greeted me immediately, directed me where to park and magically appeared with a hand drawn forklift within two shakes of a cat's tail. (I bought some live cattail plants last week, they're on my mind apparently) I can't say that I can offer you some food bank and pantry tips, I'd love to say to cut a check in the firm of financial donations over canned goods - but I just can not do that. There's just too much corruption today - I'm not pointing the dirty end of the stick at anyone's outreach - but UNISEF got busted I believe and they're one of the biggest. Canned goods, toys and volunteering - always pay it forward - it feels good to give.
