I went to STAR physical therapy in Spring Hill, Tennessee for lower back pain at the recommendation…read moreof my doctor. When I set up my first appointment I was told that since my insurance had a high deductible, each visit would cost 100 dollars. I went for 3 visits and paid the 100 dollars each time. I found the therapist and staff to be quite unprofessional. They spent most of the time carrying on conversations having nothing to do with health care or physical therapy among other staff members and people in the room. Every one of my treatments consisted of the therapist briefly describing an exercise, and having me do a certain number of reps while she walked away. Upon completion of that exercise, she would give me another exercise to do and walk away again. At the end of each 50 to 55 minute session she would print out a one or two page summary of what we did so I could continue the exercises at home. At no time in any of the visits was there any measurement or objective assessment of my progress. It simply consisted of asking me if I felt any better, giving me a few more exercises, and another printout. Everything that was done during the three visits could have just as easily been done by handing me a print-out of the exercises when I walked in the door the first time and sending me on my way. Had I known this was all that was going to be done, I could have simply looked up the exercises online. When they billed my insurance company, they fragmented the coding of each office visit into 3 components. In total the 3 times I visited were billed at 1081.00. After the insurance company acted STAR sent me a bill for a balance owed of 219.21. As a doctor myself, I feel like they engaged in some pretty creative coding in their insurance billing, designed to maximize profit at my expense. I will not return to STAR in the future, and would not have gone there originally had I known how unprofessional, ineffective, and expensive the care would be.

The place is clean and the physical therapist wore a tie and looked very professional. The physical therapist tailored my progress and goals to me, not just a cookie cutter approach. I actually drove by this tall building a countless number of times, which has doctor's offices and a walk in clinic inside, and did not notice that the building has a Benchmark physical therapy office on the first floor because there is just a small sign by the street. I actually found this place on an Internet search because I wanted to stay local and see if there was something better out there, which in my opinion, is better. I would highly recommend you try this particular physical therapy office.

I would not recommend this physical therapy office based on my experience…read more I had an initial evaluation scheduled weeks in advance and made significant efforts to ensure I could attend. In fact, I chose not to travel out of town that weekend specifically because I did not want to miss this appointment. I also completed all intake forms and paperwork online ahead of time to make the process as smooth as possible. Unfortunately, there was a major accident on the highway during my 40-minute drive to the office. As soon as I realized I would be delayed, I called the office twice, but no one answered. I left a voicemail explaining the situation and letting them know I was still on my way. I finally received a callback when I was only two minutes away from the office. I informed the front desk that I was pulling into the parking lot. When I arrived, approximately 20 minutes into my one-hour appointment, I was told that my therapist, Grant Mullins, would not be able to see me because an entire hour was required for the initial assessment. What made this especially frustrating was the complete lack of flexibility, empathy, or effort to find a solution. Grant was present and watched the conversation taking place at the front desk from one of the treatment stations, yet never approached me to discuss the situation personally. There were no patients with him at the time, as the appointment slot had been reserved for me. Rather than attempting a shortened evaluation, discussing next steps, or even acknowledging the inconvenience, I was simply turned away after driving 40 minutes to get there. I understand that schedules matter and that policies exist. However, exceptional patient care requires communication, professionalism, and basic courtesy. After making every reasonable effort to notify the office of my delay, completing all paperwork in advance, and arriving ready for my appointment, I expected far better treatment. Instead, I left feeling ignored, disrespected, and as though my time had no value. I don't know if race has anything to do with it, but it's an all white office in Tennessee, and I am black. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this practice and will be seeking care elsewhere.

I could barely even hold my 3-year-old daughter! I chose Beyond simply because it's close to my office, and I'm so glad I did. Javier and his entire staff (shout out to Concilia, Romany, and Grant!) prioritized deep understanding of my condition and goals, and tailored the perfect plan to guide my recovery. Combining patient, focused visits and a detailed home exercise regimen, they kept me both challenged and encouraged. And it worked! I'm once again lifting and tossing my baby girl with ease, and overall feeling better than I have in years. My course of treatment at Beyond PT was an incredible experience--feeling less pain and greater strength every single day. I wish I could just keep going, but, you know, economics. Yet as I leave, not only have I accomplished my rehabilitation goals, but I have a toolbox of stretches and exercises that will keep me feeling better and stranger as long as I choose to keep using them. The price is very reasonable compared to other offices in the Nashville area, which immediately put me at ease. 2. Dr. Steve Samudrala is incredibly kind and professional. He treated me like a regular patient, not "just an immigrant going through paperwork." He genuinely cared about my well‑being and even took time to give me thoughtful advice about some health conditions I have. That meant a lot to me. 3. The immigration team is absolutely amazing. Morgan scheduled my appointment over the phone and was so nice and patient -- she made me feel much better about what can be a very intimidating process. Amber is such a wonderful woman. She turned what could have been a boring and stressful immigration medical procedure into a great experience. On the day of my exam, I actually made two mistakes on my paperwork (completely my fault -- I misspelled my name first, then added an extra number to my passport number ). I can laugh about it now, but at the time I was overwhelmed with work, life, and immigration stress. Amber and another newer team member helped me redo my paperwork twice without any frustration, only kindness and support. They truly saved my day and made everything so pleasant. My USCIS application has now been submitted for about a month, and I'm very grateful I chose this office. Thank you to Dr. Samudrala, Amber, Morgan, and the entire team for making such an important step in my immigration journey a positive and supportive experience. I truly appreciate you all.

The medical care is adequate, even more then adequate…read more  The problems are with the front desk and the billing department.  I went in for care on 1/15/2025.  I was told it would cost $250 or so.  I paid the amount (plus a surcharge for using a credit card).  Later when Medicare and my insurance processed the claim they said I owed about half that amount. I called Billing and had to leave a message.  The recording said they would call back the next day.  I waited a few (week) days and...no call back.  So I called Billing again and left a message.  Same result, no call back.  So I called the main office (during business hours) and had to leave a message.  Same result as my messages to Billing, no call back.  So I called Billing again and again left a message including the notice that I will cancel my appointment the next week if this issue is not resolved.  That time they returned my call.  The issue was resolved to my satisfaction. At that appointment they took an x-ray of my feet.  I asked the tech if I could have a CD copy of my x-ray.  She did not say no, just sort of acquiesced .  I forgot to ask for the CD when I left. Next appointment on March 26 I asked for the CD and was told they don't have CDs of x-rays.  They said they could email the x-ray.  I confirmed my email address.  When the x-ray didn't arrive I called the office and left a message.  Again they never called me back. I also logged into the portal and attempted to send them a message.  When I clicked Compose I got a window that asks, ":What type of message do you want to compose?".  But there is nothing to select nor anyplace to enter any text.  So there is no way to message them. Normally I would give this information to "management" but there doesn't seem to be any way to do that with a non-functioning compose window.  So now I am resorting to yelp.

Dr. Scheitel had been to a good school so I thought he could do a good adjustment. When I went in the first day I had to pay over $400 for x-rays and treatment. After the treatment he said he knew he didn't get the spine to adjust and asked me to come back the next day. I knew he didn't get it and said I would come back. I had been to other chiropractors that the spine had adjusted and they asked me to come back the next day to make sure it was still in place. They never charged me for that. When I came back the next day he did the same procedure and the spine didn't get realigned and he knew that and told me the same. He said he wanted another "crack" at it and asked me to come back the next day. I felt bad for him that he didn't get it but was glad he wasn't giving up. Each time I came back (5 days in a row) they never asked for a payment, nor did I expect to pay because he didn't get the spine to adjust and he asked me to come back, I didn't ask him. Why would I want to come back and pay more when he couldn't get my spine aligned? After a week I gave up and went to another chiropractor in Spring Hill, Dr. Jeremy Johnson at Back to Health and adjusted my spine the first time. A week later I received a bill for almost $500 dollars. They had charged me every day even when he didn't get the spine adjusted. When I went to let them know I didn't request to see the Dr. and he never got the spine adjusted and the secretary was rude. I asked to speak to the doctor and she said she handled all that.
