Well, Sebastian did a no-show that day and I had to reschedule my photographer to another date. The next day he finally showed up, and he sent me a text saying he was finished. I got to my home 2 hours after he said he was finished and the house still had a ton of dirt on my gutters and on the side of my home. I tried to call him to explain my concerns that I was not satisfied and he didn't answer my calls. Needless to say I paid him through Zelle and never heard back from him. After several exchanged emails and quotes over a period of about a week and a half, I agreed to a…read morequote from Jim on 7/12, with an original start date of 7/29. The next day I asked if we could push it back to 8/31 due to a scheduling conflict, and he agreed. On 8/24, I actually reached out to him about adding more areas to the quote, at which point I was told he'd get back to me on 8/25. I received the updated quote on noon of 8/29, less than two days before he was supposed to start. In addition to the expected increase due to the additional spaces, I was surprised to see that the amount for previously quoted rooms had increased over 20%, in really strange ways. Some rooms didn't increase at all. Some rooms increased 10-20%. Some of the larger rooms increased 40-60%. Keep in mind, this is two days before the job was to be started. I literally have have paint spots on my wall from samples. After exchanging texts nearly all day and receiving a litany of reasons why my quote had increased unexpectedly, my wife and I decided that we just weren't comfortable moving forward with his service. He was recommended to me by a neighbor and I can't really attest to the quality of his work, but I would suggest that if you go this route that you sign the contract and get your house painted right away or risk a price increase even if it was agreed upon in emails. To quote his last text "In reality, the final quote was pending."
