Dr Mai gave me a root canal for Christmas . . . and I did not get her anything :) The process was efficient and painless. She constantly asked if I felt any pain. There were two instances with a short flash of sensitivity. I noted it and she immediately applied something that instantly calmed the sensitivity. On my way to the appointment there was a car accident that blocked my path. I called them to let them know I could be a little late. They were very understanding. I am a "Better Living Through Chemistry Kind of Guy." I would rather have the pain controlled rather than the Grin and Bear it type. Dr Mai was great. The staff is amazing from the desk staff to the hygienist and her root canal assistant. If you need a new dentist, look no farther. I have had sleep apnea for many years. I am looking forward to seeing what she recommends. I will enter another review after that process. read more

Worst customer service. My father in law had a consultation for implants and we were charged $100 for a consult and X-rays. From that appointment, they scheduled an appointment for 3 weeks later. The day of the appointment, we received a call when we were 5 minutes from the office canceling our appointment. We live 40 minutes away. They apologized and asked us to call to reschedule. We called three times and asked to schedule an appointment and we're told the doctor would call us back. The doctor never called and we were never able to reschedule. Got an appointment at another dental office and went into Restoration smiles physically and asked them for our X-rays for our new dentist. They asked for the name and number of the new dentist so they could email the X-rays. I gave them the name and number and asked them to email them right away because our appointment was that day. The receptionist said they would be sent over. Got to our appointment three hours later and no X-rays were sent. How unprofessional. Stay away from Restoration Smiles if you want any implants. read more

It had been almost 10 years since I visited a dentist. I really needed to have a check up and possibly have work done but I always dismissed the idea because truthfully I was scared. Then I started have tooth pain and I could no longer ignore it. A friend had referred me to Dr. Mai so I called and made an appointment. When I finally came in, I was upfront with my anxiety of dentists. We had a great conversation and my doubts were put to rest. She was so accommodating and comforting. Everyone at this office is very friendly and takes the time to get to know you instead of rushing you in and out. The office is very high tech. I liked how they have TVs that display in front of you in the private room that allows you to see your X-rays and also pictures of your teeth so that you can see exactly what the doctor is seeing too. Efficient. Excellent. Ease. I never use these words in the same sentence as "dentist," but yes, these were the words in my head upon finishing up my visit. Usually I think things more like "Despicable, Dental Dictator, D--- you" at the teeth torturer's office. Like most normal people in life, I hate dental visits. However, my experience here has been nothing but positive. The staff was effective in scheduling & processing paperwork, as well as working quickly through any confusing insurance-related issues. But let's get to the meat & potatoes of this experience. I despise dentists that just dig into your mouth & bombard you with patronizing "do-better" cliches on oral care. Not only was Dr. Mai effective during the cleaning, but she was also thoughtful and patient, in explaining both my teeth condition & helpful suggestions for better care. To add on to that, she was sincere & transparent in breaking down what possible procedures might be necessary down the road. After a lifetime of hatred towards dentists, I wish I'd found Dr. Mai earlier in life. I don't believe I've ever had a dental visit that was as nice as they are here. From the moment you're greeted you're made to feel welcome. For example; I'm a cold natured person and they offered me a blanket while they examined and cleaned my teeth. When I was done while waiting for my husband to finish they gave me another blanket without me asking. While cleaning my teeth and doing my procedure they were thorough and made sure I was comfortable at all times. My employer changed insurance providers, so it left me shopping for a new dentist. First impression was honestly pretty good, the staff is upbeat and friendly, the facility is clean, and the tv's on the ceilings are a nice touch too. The dental assistants were thorough taking pictures, but this is where I started getting skeptical. They were educating me on plaque build up almost to the point of over explaining and it felt like maybe they were trying to scare me into thinking I had pre-gingivitis. The real problem was at the end when the actual dentist told me I had 6 cavities, and that it would be a whooping $600 out of pocket. Now I know I'm not perfect at flossing, but it hadn't been even a year since my previous cleaning and I brush twice a day and overall I just simply couldn't believe it. I was so shocked. I ended up going back to my original dentist for a second opinion... where I was told I have zero cavities. Nope not even one. So just beware. I am so glad I didn't fork out the money for completely unnecessary "treatment". If something is hard to believe, please trust your gut, and please get a second opinion. read more

Highly recommend Dr. Mai for your dental needs. I had an emergency case where my tooth was cracked and I was in pain. Dr. Mai got me in last minute and helped ease the pain instantly while also getting in a crown. Now I have no issues with that tooth and the crown has stayed put. We're charged for their mistake. My daughter had a cavity filled here and a month later it got infected where her whole faced swelled up. I was charged to have her tooth, that they just worked on, removed. When I questioned the charge, the response was "Well, they're 2 separate operations." We WERE reoccurring customers over the course of 3 years. Rather than admitting fault and absorbing the cost of the extraction, they lost a couple of customers. The cost was negligible, however, I used it as an opportunity to respond to their error. I will not return and will not recommend anyone else do the same. read more
