There is much I can say about my first visits and experiences with Tom Voitas - some 25 years ago…read morein the late '90s, but I'll (try) to keep it brief. - I'm just going to riff and hit send - please forgive any typos or grammatical errors I was 32, a Cold War, Desert Shield and Desert Storm veteran with yet to be diagnosed with militarily service related PTSD, and newly sober from alcohol - I was blessed with an intervention - and living in a sober living apartment community in Chicago's Rogers Park, fresh out of 30 days in lockdown rehab and six months in a halfway house. In every sense at the very pit of my bottom, with life hanging by a frayed string, when I was introduced to Tom, Spirit and the realities I truly had access to in this life. Since an early age, I have been blessed by "tragedies" along my path that would ultimately expose me to wondrous authentic relationships with my Self & Spirit that have always been within and around, but muted and hidden by false Self, Ego, Fear, and Pain. At 32 yr old, seemingly hopeless and armed with little more than pain and a just a spark of openness and willingness to change, Tom exposed me to a pathway that would begin to strip me of a bondage intent to mute the Spirit within and defeat my life force. It's 2023, and I'm 58 and my journey and life is genuinely wondrous and joyful. Along The Way, life's terms, as the will, have presented challenge despair, opportunity, much joy, four excruciating bouts with cancer, loss of my big sister to the same, along with the marvels of our family's expansion and lives we've created and cared for - all of whom are in or coming to the adulthood of their own journeys. I no longer live in Chicago and my shamanic teacher and guide has transitioned to Rodrigo these past several years along the path Tom exposed me to and the sojourn he cast me off on many years ago now. He's an extraordinary healer- employs a variety of therapeutic interventions, some more traditional than others, each uniquely tailored to a patient's needs. I've recommended Dr. Voitas to a few friends with chronic pain issues and my husband saw him for chronic pain after a head injury-bike accident. Everyone has been very pleased with the quality of care and Dr. Voitas's unique skill set, patience and compassion. Very reasonable hourly fee. Highly recommended.

I'm so glad I decided on this place because Dr. Steve Goosetree helped me get back on my feet and back to work in no time. He was caring, personable, and knew his stuff, from top to bottom. Not only did Steve take care of my ankle, but he also took care of my back, which I had surgery on 1 year before breaking my ankle. I was experiencing a ton of back pain because of the broken ankle - I couldn't work out and I was limping in a boot or using crutches to get everywhere. Even though I wasn't there for my back pain, we talked things over and decided that ~50% of each session should be geared towards my back. If we only focused on my ankle, I would have a healthy ankle, but I would have a horrible quality of life due to the back pain. Steve taught me new exercises to help with my lower body and back strength, and I've stuck with them, even one year later. I definitely got a good sweat going each session. And the massages were also great. It's nice that he is solely focused on you for your entire session. I've been other places where the PT sees you for 20 minutes and then hands you off to an assistant. Steve is the only guy running the show at Core on Diversey, and he does a great job watching every little movement and correcting you when needed. Much appreciated and keep up the good work Steve!

Nick was awesome. He obviously cares about his patients and, having had major knee surgery last year, knows what it's like to be on the receiving end of care. The work in the office was fun and the home work was achievable. Nick always makes sure that your questions are answered, even between sessions. He was very accommodating to my sometimes hectic schedule and always had answers to my questions soon after I sent them. I know I'm in better shape now than before my injury, and I look forward to going back after my next one!

My neurologist referred me specifically to Imelda and I have been grateful ever since. Shortly after I started PT at PhysioPartners, I began to experience some pain relief. I was given a comprehensive home routine that I followed. I did not ever think I would be relieved of the neck pain and I am glad that I do not have it often. I would not be honest if I said I was completely pain free. I sometimes get flare ups and the vast majority of the time the home exercises help relieve the pain. Imelda is a McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy clinician. I am grateful for her proficiency in this method because it definitely helps my spine conditions. I recently started physical therapy again. The orthopedic specialist I see told me to work with Imelda again for my spine, lower back pain and nerve pain. PT is helping me quite a bit. I was given new exercises to add to my home routine that are helping me improve and strengthen. From the time I walk through the front door to when I leave, I do not feel rushed. My questions are answered. Imelda confirms that I understand my protocol and instructions. The facility is wonderful and has quite a bit of equipment and classes offered if needed. It felt as though my assessment was rushed so it could be completed before she left, rather than being conducted with the thoroughness I had been expecting. The final report was extremely disappointing. Several diagnoses and recommendations seemed to be based on isolated comments from my intake instead of the overall evaluation or the concerns I was actually seeking testing for. It felt like broad conclusions were drawn from very limited information while the primary reason I pursued testing was largely overlooked. Even more frustrating, many of the recommendations were approaches I had already pursued over the past four years without success. That made the report feel generic rather than personalized to my history or circumstances. I also never had the opportunity to meaningfully discuss the findings with a licensed professional, despite waiting months for this process. Overall, I left feeling that my time, money, and concerns were not treated with the level of care or expertise I expected. Based on my experience, I would recommend looking elsewhere if you're seeking a comprehensive, individualized psychological evaluation.

This saves you time, money, and the emotional investment you'd spend searching for a good fit on your own. I ended up staying with Sally, as she is a practicing therapist also, and have been a client for about a year. She is insightful, non-judgmental, warm and engaging. I needed someone to offer insight, thoughts, questions, etc. throughout a session, and she knows just when and how to ask that more challenging question, dig deeper, and/or let you have a minute to think and breathe. She gets it. I have grown because of Sally, and I can't recommend her highly enough.

This is a great solution to speed up the matchmaking process, painlessly. I was referred to Sally Frau from my massage therapist, who is a lovely holistic-y person that I trust with my body and spirit. That being said, I'm a total pragmatist and not really all that woo-woo and fuzzywuzzy when it comes to decisions like mental health professionals. I mentioned to him that I was thinking of finding someone to help me deal with job and relationship stress, and wanted to find a local therapist, but that I had a bad first experience with someone in Chicago I found through an online referral. (I had told the person that I was "shopping for a therapist" and she got really offended and annoyed. It made me feel like I was doing something wrong, but hey -- it's my brain, my money, my life, so I want to make the right decision and I feel the need to understand more before committing to a therapist.) The problem is, I'm super busy and at the rate I was going it would take me three years to find someone. Anyhoo, I was referred to Compatible Solutions as being precisely what I was seeking - a "personal shopper for therapists" as it were. That sounds cheesy but it's really a professional experience. Sally does a thorough confidential intake over two sessions, and being a former therapist herself she has a lot of experience and opinions on things like communication style, tactics/therapies, etc. I found it very educational, since I'm not exactly a lifer in terms of therapy experience. Her manner was very direct, calm, sensitive but to the point. The service is turnkey- she will find you one or more people she thinks is a match for your needs and preferred style/personality, and she'll write up a preliminary prep for the therapists you choose to interview. She also verifies they take your insurance, etc. I don't know how many people she has in her personal database, but it seemed like I had plenty of options to find someone close to my home who also matched my style. She does personal interviews with all the people in her list to understand their approaches and backgrounds. I'd never heard of this kind of service, but I'm a believer. I like the therapist she recommended, a very different person than I would have picked for myself based solely on a scan of her background, but on meeting her and talking about style I think we have a winner. And if it doesn't work out Sally said I can come back for additional options. All in all, money and time well spent.
