Hmm, my experience is significantly different than the previous reviewers. Because my service was so different, and the folks that reviewed this practice only have one and two reviews, I question their validity.
Here's the back story, I saw another practice, and hated them. I'm sure I'll review them one day, and you'll be able to read about my experience. At Reston Town Center, my experience was WAY different. First, the "other doctor's office" told me that my newborn was losing too much weight, and I should supplement my breastfeeding after saying-- the Le Leche League would advise against this but..., took about 5 minutes to answer the phone, the nurse was missing most of her teeth, the rooms were about 60 degrees, the doctor told my boyfriend that he needed to quiet our 2-day old newborn because the crying was distracting, the list goes on and on. Anyway, the doctor told me that I should schedule a follow-up to check the weight in one week.
So, in need of another doctor fast, I signed on to Washington's Top Docs through the Washingtonian, and three or four of the docs from Reston Town Center were listed in Washington Top Docs- great! I called, they answered in just a ring, scheduled me within the week, and offered to schedule me time with a lactation consultant--nurses on staff!
I showed up to the first appointment, and we were ushered into the "well room." First, you should know that they only schedule newborns at certain times to avoid sick kids, and they always have separate waiting rooms--sick and well. We only waited a few minutes, and a nurse met us. She was so kind and even cracked up laughing when my daughter pooped all over thermometer (nurses have to take rectal temperatures of newborns). The doctor was fantastic, told us there was no need to supplement and offered the on staff lactation consultants (it's fantastic to have a doc that 100% supportive/ encouraging of breastfeeding!), and ended our 5pm appointment on a Friday with--man, that was my last appointment of the day, and it was great way to end the week. It was so cute, especially after my horrible experience with the other doc, that I wanted to just squish his face.
My follow-up appointments have been just as fantastic. They are up to date on all the most recent research. Also, they have a website where parents can ask questions or schedule appointments any time of day. I've used it several times to ask questions of the lactation consultants/ nurses about breastfeeding.
