I got my tattoo done by Daniel Russell November 2, 2019 and just 2 WEEKS after I got it done this is how it healed . I contacted him asking him if he can fix it because there's no reason why a tattoo should fade only 2 weeks after ( granite this spot is known to fade but not after 2 weeks ) he told he it'll be an extra $60 to fix it after he did this to me ! What a joke lol now I'm walking around with a jail tattoo on my hand . Loved it at first but now it's kinda embarrassing when people see it , but I make sure to tell people Daniel Russell at restless valley ink in Merced did this to me and tried to charge me an extra $60 to fix his own work . People were just as shocked as I was . Really upset , disappointed and embarrassed ... this is stuck with me for the rest of my life read more

Extremely clean and the staff is always professional, RVI is the best there is. Jason Rios has done at least 90% of the work I have done and I will never go anywhere else. The amount of experience jason has is incredible. He stays up to date with all his machines which makes the healing time cut down to 1/3 of what it used to be. I truly appreciate this shop, the friendly staff make the overall experience that much better. This is a great shop and I recommend it to everyone. It's worth it. read more

Found this place because of a friend and ended up getting a tattoo from Daniel. He was not only very nice but extremely knowledgeable. He took the time to listen to exactly what I wanted and he gave suggestions but was never pushy. During the tattoo he made sure I was comfortable. I am completely in love with how everything came out and I will definitely be back! read more

My sister got both a tattoo and a piercing at Restless Valley. The tattoo artist (Ricky) messed up her tattoo, and it's now any grammarian's nightmare. She wanted it to say "You've got to fall before you fly." Before they inked her up, she asked if she could have it changed to "you have to fall before you fly." The artist wound up etching "You've have to fall before you fly" into her skin forever. The spacing between the words was terrible, and the font used was clearly something he randomly found on the internet. She's vision impaired, and wasn't able to see the issues that HE should have checked for before tattooing. Always check your grammar! She then made the mistake of going back, and got an eyebrow piercing from JD. He pierced her with a bellybutton barbell instead of an eyebrow barbell, instead of just telling her that he didn't have one for an eyebrow. It protruded in a very unattractive way, and was too big a gauge for the eyebrow. It rejected, migrated, and fell out. Neither JD nor Ricky have given her a refund. I'm reading tons of great reviews for these guys, so did they just both happen to show up to work drunk? Ricky didn't offer a refund because "she walked out of the store after looking at it so no refunds." JD didn't offer one because he said that things reject all the time and the size is fine. These are both examples of lies and terrible customer service. They owe my sister money. read more

I've been wanting to get my eyebrow microblading for years. I've always been insecure about my brows. I found cruzelly by ig @browzillahh_zelly and I can't thank her enough! This is a great place to get a tattoo, shop is clean, and the owner Jason Rios is very professional and does great work. The pricing is fair, and remember your getting one of the best in the valley. Jason listened to what I wanted in my tattoo, and made it even better. Jason is really a stand up guy. But keep in mind since he is so good, its hard to get an appointment so think ahead book now for the future. read more

We came here today to have my daughters nosed pierced. The L bar came out. So we came this evening to put it back in. We chose this because this place was clean, the man was pleasant and the had Long hours. We went back at 745, there were people inside. But they were closed. I would not recommend these people to anyone who depends on this company's advertising. read more

Rafael is very detailed and made sure that everything was done and didn't miss anything. He has a light touch. Rafael is very professional and I felt very comfortable. Other artists would go by and say Hi and stop and talk. I will be going back to Main Street Tattoo and Body Piercing in Merced from now on. Ask for "Rafael." I know I will be.

When we got there, we were informed that the piercing lady wouldn't be in until 1:30 pm. We went out for a walk and came back around that time, only to have to wait another 30 minutes to 1 hour for the piercing lady to come in. We didn't really mind too much at the time. When we finally went in, the Lady was really inviting and nice, however, it was noticeable that she was feeling rushed. She marked my girlfriend and all looked good. She also reassured my girlfriend that there would be no issues with it and it as all okay. About a month later, we went to get my eyebrow pierced and then also asked about the general redness around my girlfriend's healing belly piercing. Looking at it, suddenly the piercing lady suggested that my girlfriend didn't get it pierced with her and she strongly DENIED ever seeing her, making my girlfriend feel insecure and uncomfortable. (We told her we saw her about 3 weeks to a month ago.) The lady was notably rushed again when we came the second time. Overall, good vibes and knowledge about piercings but professionalism and kindness was lacking. My girlfriend and I left the shop that day upset and in anger. We understand that she may not remember every person, but denying that one modified a person's body is just rude and uncalled for. UPDATE (6/20/26): As of lately; Shop owner has denied ever performing our piercing, I would not trust this business at all.

I received a navel piercing here about a year ago. It was marked while I was lying down, and I…read morenoticed immediately that it appeared crooked. Over the next three months, I experienced persistent pain and developed an irritation bump. I ultimately had to remove it, which left a visible scar. When I returned to discuss the issue, the piercer denied having done the piercing, despite my appointment being only a month prior. That response was very upsetting and made the situation feel even worse. I've since had other piercings done elsewhere that healed without issue, which leads me to believe the original placement may not have been correct. I'm sharing this so others can ensure their piercings are properly assessed and that their concerns are acknowledged.

I understand that schedules change and emergencies happen, but communication and follow-through are important--especially when someone has already paid a significant amount up front. I left this experience feeling disappointed and feeling like my project was no longer a priority. Anyways I feel sorry for people to get bad treatment from them they don't deserve our business, when I was living I told the owner written a review and never came back and she told me she won't appreciate my business too and I didn't look back but I heard a loud noise I think she shouted the door as soon as a leave because we were standing close to the door, she is rude she doesn't deserve any business. They should be permanently closed to her salon , I'll scale this case because this is not how you treat people in America maybe from where she is but no here. This is by far one of the best tattoo parlors I have been to. The artist Matthew did an amazing job on my wrist and I have followed him ever since. The feel and flow of this shop is definitely homely and centered around their costumers. At first I do admit I was hesitant to go to a shop in Merced but this is by far the best one in the next 100 miles. If you're going in for anything, definitely ask for Matt! read more

When we got there, we were informed that the piercing lady wouldn't be in until 1:30 pm. We went out for a walk and came back around that time, only to have to wait another 30 minutes to 1 hour for the piercing lady to come in. We didn't really mind too much at the time. When we finally went in, the Lady was really inviting and nice, however, it was noticeable that she was feeling rushed. She marked my girlfriend and all looked good. She also reassured my girlfriend that there would be no issues with it and it as all okay. About a month later, we went to get my eyebrow pierced and then also asked about the general redness around my girlfriend's healing belly piercing. Looking at it, suddenly the piercing lady suggested that my girlfriend didn't get it pierced with her and she strongly DENIED ever seeing her, making my girlfriend feel insecure and uncomfortable. (We told her we saw her about 3 weeks to a month ago.) The lady was notably rushed again when we came the second time. Overall, good vibes and knowledge about piercings but professionalism and kindness was lacking. My girlfriend and I left the shop that day upset and in anger. We understand that she may not remember every person, but denying that one modified a person's body is just rude and uncalled for. UPDATE (6/20/26): As of lately; Shop owner has denied ever performing our piercing, I would not trust this business at all.

Over the next three months, I experienced persistent pain and developed an irritation bump. I ultimately had to remove it, which left a visible scar. When I returned to discuss the issue, the piercer denied having done the piercing, despite my appointment being only a month prior. That response was very upsetting and made the situation feel even worse. I've since had other piercings done elsewhere that healed without issue, which leads me to believe the original placement may not have been correct. I'm sharing this so others can ensure their piercings are properly assessed and that their concerns are acknowledged.

Showed them what i was interested in he went and talked to an artist named "Rafael." He drew up a design and it was really good. He took a little bit to make sure his work station was clean and safe. Right before he started the tattoo, he asked if I had any injuries so he could accommodate me so I would be comfortable through out the tattoo. Offered me a water. Rafael is very detailed and made sure that everything was done and didn't miss anything. He has a light touch. Rafael is very professional and I felt very comfortable. Other artists would go by and say Hi and stop and talk. I will be going back to Main Street Tattoo and Body Piercing in Merced from now on. Ask for "Rafael." I know I will be.
