I traveled to town and handled the cremation paperwork in person and was told his ashes would be ready by the end of the week (which I would still be in town). I picked up the ashes (which were split into 2 temporary urns) before traveling back home 7 hours. I was contacted a few days later to advise that they *think* the ashes I had in my possession were not correct. The boxes were sealed and the outside stated they were my father. In order to verify we had to open the boxes where clear bags contained my father. Which after a sudden and recent loss this was absolutely gutwrenching. Low & behold, the tag inside was not my father's and I had some other persons ashes. To which it was confirmed another person had MY DAD'S ASHES instead of me! Griffin seemed like they wanted to remedy the situation quickly as I was obviously upset and they significantly screwed up. I spoke to Brittany (the director) and the owner traveled to my house overnight to collect the ashes. I spoke to both of them that due to this negligence & major screw up, I would anticipate compensation once the correct ashes were given to me. Though I was very upset by the call I tried to remain calm and treat them both with respect as I know neither the director or owner was the person who mixed up these ashes and it was likely done at the crematorium. They both apologized and acknowledged they would absolutely be compensating me for this grave error. It took them several days to get my father's ashes correct (I would hope they are actually him but of course I'll never know for sure given this situation). To which they aimed to overnight ship them to me. I specifically requested several times to use UPS or FedEx as the US Postal Service has been consistently unreliable. I then received a shipping confirmation of NOT OVERNIGHT and also through the US Postal Service. I had to spend several days then stressing out to hope everything would make it to me. I received the package and set up a call several days later to discuss compensation. Brittany was late to our call because she was "driving and then checking into a hotel,"though we previously arranged this call you would think she would have had her schedule cleared... ? The call started and the funeral home had the gall to offer me a "free cremation". I could not even believe they thought this was adequate. First of all I met with Brittany for my father's cremation paperwork. She saw me in person. I am 33 years old! Also I live 7 hours away. I told her she couldn't be serious... not only would I not use this funeral home again even if it was for my dead goldfish, I would hope I have about 50-60 years left and also I live in another STATE. This was an unacceptable response given the scenario it was not even remotely reasonable. This wasn't some messed up fast food order they could just give me a coupon code for... I then told her no, absolutely not, and I felt a full refund at this point was the bare minimum given the gravity of the situation. She advised since it was more than $700 they had to contact corporate and she would be back in touch with me in a day or so. I never heard from her again. I called and emailed to which I was ghosted. I have since hired an attorney to proceed accordingly. I will be also contacting the state board to report them. The absolute grave negligence and emotional distress this place put me through is disgusting and I hope no one else ever has to go through this while grieving their parent. I would recommend you run as far as possible from this place.

She wanted to be brought back home to Louisiana from San Diego, California. Rev. McFarland is no stranger to my family, he also cared for my grandmother in 2007 when she desired the same wish. With his expertise and care it took the weight off of me while he worked diligently with the out of state mortuary to ensure that everything happened in a timely fashion. I appreciate that so much. I also appreciate the communication that was provided when her stone was received in. He was diligent with sending photos even though I was over 3,000 miles away. My friend touched his chest and it sunk in! Funeral director lied about the coroner keeping the body out too long when that was not the case. They should not be in business at all! This is appalling! There are two cemeteries on opposite sides of 11th Street. This visit is for the Jewish cemetery on…read morethe eastern side. The cemetery is fenced on all sides and the fence is in good condition with the entrance here on 11th. Other than being rather dry and unfeatured, the cemetery is in excellent condition. The little bit of grass is maintained and nearly all the headstones were intact. Many had stones on top, which is an ancient Jewish tradition to show respect and remembrance. "May the One who brings peace to the universe bring peace to us and to all the people." I did not realize that there was such a large Jewish population in Monroe but here we are. Most of us moved away many years ago, so when opinions started coming in because of present ownership we were confused. We chose Miller's anyway and found out that The Miller Family does still own the location in Monore. We were warmly greeted and treated with the utmost kindness and care. William listened and anwered all of our many, many questions. He was dealing with three women, so you know how that can be. Our mother was presented beautifully and the level of care and attention to detail was outstanding. All that to say we had a truly and amazing experience of comfort , respect and service.

They were so friendly and nice even though I simple needed a price. There was not one push to have me buy anything or a list of things i would need to do etc. I called around to 7 other places...with every single one immediately telling me all the things I could get and do, (even though I said I only needed a cremation). One fella told me he was the cheapest in town for what I needed. I called Rick back at Miller and asked again about the price because I was sure it had been wrong. It was not. Rick was so kind in listening to my situation and helpful and when he said they really are concerned with helping families I believed him 100%. And he still didn't try to sell me anything. They have the most beautiful and professional website. They have the kindest people on the phone. They made me feel at peace that they were going to be taking care of my brother. If I lived there myself I would be more than happy to have Miller Funeral Home take care of me, my family or my friends. They are simply wonderful, lovely, caring people!!
