But, gotta admit, it's very Mexican for the area. I parked right against the chainlink fence to keep my dog cool in the shade. It was past 5pm on a Monday night and daylight was waning. The place is small. You see the kitchen as soon as you walk in. You take a right turn into the dining area. The place looks old, but it was clean when I came by. The place wasn't very busy when I first walked in, but my entrance must have started the dinner rush. I sat against the window to have a clear view of my car. I ordered chicken enchiladas and it came out quickly. I also got a bowl of salty pasta soup. Service was prompt. My meal didn't look very appealing, but it wasn't bad. Just really salty for my taste. The chicken had some gristle in it. The beans were runny and on the salty side. But in the end, I ate it all because I was hungry. The meal was also very affordable for $12.99.

The whole vibe feels like you're stepping into your grandma's kitchen, which is honestly adorable. And the food? Amazing. We had the menudo, and it was delicious and super clean tasting. We also ordered the carne con chile burro and chorizo con papas burro to go, and let me tell you, these burros are MASSIVE! You can definitely share one unless you have a big appetite, then you're set with one all to yourself. Definitely a spot to stop by if you're craving authentic, home-cooked comfort food. It really does taste like Nana made it.
