This is restaurant is at the beginning of Lapa road into the historical center. It doesn't have a creative name nor many frills. It has muskets of every size mounted on the wall and has a small tv with a Brazilian drama playing on it. Open area seating with a decent menu options.
We tried the grilled octopus dish, the most expensive on the menu coming in at R$110. It came with a side of rice, some cubed potatoes and onion rings. Considering the price of the dish, the octopus didn't seem very fresh with the suckers falling off the leg. The flavor was good but overwhelmingly salty. The onion rings were the best part of the dish, lightly battered, crispy and hot. Definitely not a dish worth it's price.
However the picanha with piamontese (cheesy) rice and fries was a much simpler dish with decent flavor and at half the price of the octopus it was worth it.
Service was fine, and it looked less crowded and less touristy than the other restaurants around. read more
