Definitely recommend making a reservation, I found it impressive that the hostess's reservation system was essentially a notebook and pen in this digital age. We did not see much of our waiter, since the restaurant was extremely busy and filled up with diners. Standouts: 1. Razor clams - I'll always get these if I see it on the menu. Cooked in this incredible garlic sauce. 2. Fish and seafood cataplana - delicious, tomato-forward seafood stew; I liked the version that we had the night before more which came with rice and was more filling. But this was basically a never-ending bowl of fish, clams, mussels, and shrimp. Add to that the fact that the restaurant like most in Porto did not have A/C and I emerged feeling like I had been sitting in a sauna. Skipped dessert; I had my eye on the Weeel! froyo truck parked outside. One more nit - the metal chairs are not comfortable at all for sitting a long time in.

We ordered a few tapas to share: croquets de alheira and croquets de codfish. Both were so good! We loved it. The star of the show though was the pork neck tacos! They were so delicious! So much flavor and perfect. I got the lemonade and it was just okay. Nothing special. Overall, would 100% recommend this place! Make a reservation if you can but if you can't, would still try to stop by!

When you're driving from one place (Seville) to another (Madrid) and decide to pull over in a small…read moretown for some vittles, the last thing you expect to find is a six-star-worthy restaurant. [N.B. I have been promoting the idea of allowing senior Yelp Elites a once-a-year opportunity to give a restaurant a six-star review under the theory that some places are great (and earn 5 stars), but occasionally you stumble across a place that is above and beyond. FWIW, I think Yelp HQ is generally ignoring me.] Anyway... El 7 de Sillerias was FAN-TAS-TIC! I'll try not to hit the character limit with superlatives, so here goes: The staff were amazing! We had a service dog along with us and they treated him like a full-blown guest, refilling his water as needed, etc., while respecting the service dog code: working dog, do not pet. The wine options were deep and reasonable, and the bar drinks were perfection (both mocktail and otherwise). I had the meatballs, which were cooked flawlessly. So many meatballs today are cooked into chewy knobs of meat under the assumption that the sauce will save them (which generally doesn't work). Here, they were just right and tender as you-know-what. The Mrs. had some kind of burrata ball in a sauce that was not only beautiful but also delicious. The final dish was a ribeye that blew everyone's collective minds. Tender, juicy, and in a sauce that was to die for. 100% recommend. So normally I'm not a dessert guy, but boy am I glad I chose to be on this day. I had the cinnamon-coated bread pudding (I think the menu may say it's rice; I can't remember) that rocked my world. Not too sweet, but pure heaven. My kid had a brownie ice cream thing that looked like it would be too sweet but wasn't. It was lovely. So... 6 stars? You betcha. This one is easy. I am sad to see that there hasn't been a review of this place in YEARS, but I'm hoping that this one will put it back on the Yelp map. Enjoy... and you're welcome.

My husband had the squid and said it was great. I got the "barbecue" chicken which was grilled with a yummy just-smoky-enough char. (I was worried I might have a US style sweet BBQ sauce). It was seasoned with just-enough salt and whatever else was used, was perfect. We really appreciated the Portuguese authenticity of this little restaurant... many locals were dining here on the day we went. A final note -- we loved that there was a sink to wash your hands right by the entrance. Highly recommend this little gem in Guarda.

As the nights are starting to get cooler after the sunset (7:30), they had located many heating lamps and positioned cozy blankets on chairs just in case. It was quite pleasant. Food-wise you can order a tasting menu if several courses with optional wine pairings or do what we did and select from the ala-carte menu. We've learned with the big portion sizes here in Portugal to cut back a bit so we ordered two starters (burratta with tomatoes and the scarlet shrimp with rice). The burratta was a standout with creamy sweet cheese nestled in a tomato confit. The shrimp was interesting-it was almost like a mini lobster and the server removed the head at the table for me. We decided to share a main course-the veal tenderloin which was good but not nearly as tender as one might expect. In between there were little small bites from the chef and we ended with a luscious chocolate dessert. The white glove service was a swarm of activity instantly refilling glasses, clearing plates and changing silverware-it was a little much for me as our table was right at the crossroads of the activity. Wine list is huge as you'd expect with everything from wines by the glass for €10-17 to bottles in the hundreds and even thousands of euros. I saw one that was €6 thousand on the list. As is common in this kind of place, prices were steep and our dinner with 2 drinks, 2 glasses of wine, 2 starters, 1 main and 1 dessert was around €150. Bottom line a lovely place with great service and food and high
