It was a chance stop for a late late lunch right before we had to head back to Lisbon. Two of us had a black pork sausage with mushrooms, and shared a bacalhau/cod dish. With its english menu placed outside of the restaurant, one would think it's a typical establishment for tourists. It may well be, but the two dishes we had were probably the tastiest meal we had for the entire two weeks in Portugal. The proportion was huge and the presentations were more diner style. However, we just couldn't stop dipping our bread in the sausage/mushrooms dish sources, and the dried/salty cod tasted better than the fresh cod we later had at a place on the bank of Rio Douro in Porto.
Overall, we really enjoyed Évora and a good meal really helped to seal our impression. read more
