Without a doubt, this was the best meal we had in Spain. The interior is modern and elegant but…read morenot pretentious; you're still in a beach town with t-shirt wearing tourists. Service was attentive and friendly. We didn't have a reservation and got lucky with the last open table for two...so make a reservation! But if you eat later, say after 9:00pm, you should be able get a table. Everything on menu looked fantastic; it was difficult deciding what to order: -FREE: Amuse-bouche...Spanish sushi! Had a unique sauce to it...lovely! -Grilled fresh asparagus in charcoal and shavings of Manchego cheese with basil oil...the amazing sauce made this the best asparagus I've ever had. -Grilled Turbot loin with orange, seafood and almonds cream..another incredible sauce! It went well with the fish, shrimp, clams and scallops. -Mediterranean Sole grilled in charcoal with black garlic alioli...no special sauce, but still delicious and cooked perfectly.. Wife was happy. -Sopa de chocolate blanco...for dessert, a green fluffy cake resting in warm melted white chocolate...creative and fabulous! -Wine...can't remember exactly, but we got a nice bottle for under €20. I don't remember the exact prices, but according to my credit card statement the entire meal was €72, which is great value considering this was nearly fine dining. Not sure if I'll ever visit Nerja again, but if I do I'm definitely dining here again. TRAVEL TIP: Don't mix this up with "Restaurante Pacomari"...I think its the same owner's casual and traditional restaurant but the food and service aren't nearly as good.

Amazing food and amazing service...the staff knows the menu and the wine list. We came here twice…read morein 3 days and brought a group the second time..everybody was very excited and pleased. They have a complimentary appetizer that was steak tartare over a potato that was outstanding. The best thing on the menu was the cod...photo attached.

Awesome tapas bar that specializes in fresh, local seafood. My favorite was the eggplant with the…read morebalsamic glaze drizzled on top and the fried mini calamari. There are also meat and vegetable dishes but we didnt try any of those dishes. The service is wonderful! All the servers were so friendly and accommodating to my loud party of 8 people.

The friendly staff were eager to seat us, despite afternoon food service closing up soon. €4.50 Half portion of steamed mussels...fresh, simple, delcious, and cheap! €5 Half portion of razor clams...all my seafood lover friends told me I had to try these weird clams. They were just okay, the wife didn't like them at all. I'm not sure if they were cooked improperly or not fresh, or maybe its just not for us. €3.50 Fried Eggplants...I forget to eat enough vegetables on my travels, luckily these were delicious! Then again, what isn't delicious after being deep fried? €2.20 glasses of wine...gotta love Spain! At the end of our meal, one of the waiters came by give some free apertifs, gracias! Not sure what they were, but I'm not one to turn down free alcohol. Visit #2: TAPAS!!! Just get yourself a house wine for about €2.50ish, and you can choose a free tapas from about about a half dozen choices, including seafood! I got some deep fried anchovies, simple but delicious. I didn't but, but yo could multiply this by four, and be drunk and have a light dinner meal! Just note the free tapas is only in the bar area, not the full service dining areas. Besides the weird razor clams, which I didn't like or dislike, and might have been the culprit for a sick wife later on, El Pulguilla is definitely worth a visit to satisfy your seafood cravings.
