My boyfriend and I found this restaurant on Trip Advisor while visiting Cascais and decided to try it out. We wanted somewhere off of the main square that also served authentic Portuguese food. This restaurant not only met those requirements, but also had extremely friendly staff, excellent food, and an intimate environment. We read it was small so decided to stop by earlier in the afternoon to make a reservation for that evening. I'm glad we did because when we showed up at 7:30 all of the tables had "reserved" signs on them. The restaurant is actually two smaller restaurants connected (a total of about 8 tables, fitting around 15 people). We were told that one chef on one side of the restaurant provides the hot dishes while the other chef provides the cold ones.
Regardless, it was a great experience. Both chefs came to our table to see what what our tastes/preferences were and then made tapas recommendations from there. There was a menu written on a chalkboard on the wall, but the waiters (or in our case, chefs) recommended his/her favorites based on what we liked or wanted to try. Our favorites were the manchego cheese with honey and truffle oil and stuffed mushrooms. The white sangria was also very good and had a stick of cinnamon in each, which we weren't expecting but it paired nicely with the apple slices in the drink - very refreshing. read more
