The property itself is the best part, though. The rooms are simple - no TV, just a bedroom and en suite, with a little balcony. The hotel boasts a rooftop lounge area with chairs and a few little tables; great place to catch some sun without getting sandy! They serve continental breakfast in the mornings with meats, cheeses, a variety of breads, fresh fruit, and yogurt on request. They also serve coffee and cake every afternoon. When we arrived we found a bottle of red wine in our room, which was a nice touch. The owner is lovely and will make you feel right at home. This place has such a peaceful vibe! And all this comes at a really affordable price.

Just be careful and lock your room. A cleaning lady tried to open the door when i was leaving the shower and almost had a peek at my sculptural and muscular body (or not so muscular). There is a clean pool outside with some sun chairs. The building is well-situated with a lots of supermarkets and some malls in the area. The closest beach is at approximately 1,5km from the building. Now for the negative side: there's a gypsy camp next to the building. They are sometimes drunk and noisy. We had an evening where they were into an argument and yelling at each other for 30min. The last and huge negative point for us was the noisy roosters in the area. We slept with the windows open the first night, bad idea... These @#%$*& ruined my night and i was in a very bad mood in the morning. All of this aside, we had a great stay in a great sunny region!

And you can walk to the center or beach in 15 mins. Make sure to rent a car while you stay in portugal. There is a great car rental place right around the corner called tropical impacto. Pool temperature was fine during August, might be cold during other months since pool seemed to not be heated. Great separate mini-waterslide pool just for kids (up to about age 10 would find these fun). Also a zip-line for kids. The beach across the street and train track (easy and safe to cross) was really nice. The beach restaurant (the one directly across from the Atlantico restaurant) was the best in the area. More than half the guests have kids. It feels like a family/kids resort, which was great for us. I wouldn't come here in the summer without kids unless you really like other people's kids. We didn't use the Club Nep kids club (located in a separate area of resort) because there was too much fun happening in the main pool. I didn't see any other families using it either. If anyone was using it, it was only for the youngest children (maybe up to age 5). About 50% of the guests speak English natively, all from England (we didn't meet any other Americans over an entire week). Free wifi internet, nice safes and refrigerators in the rooms. If you don't splurge for pool view, ask for a room facing town which is just as nice. Housekeeping is a disaster. Room was cleaned poorly. Breakfast is good but very crowded. I recommend eating lunch and dinner at restaurants. I heard lots of complaints from guests that had paid for full-board plans that included lunch and dinner. The decor at the hotel is very strange. Lots of dark red colors that clash horribly with the sunlight at a beach hotel.
