I ordered a pad Thai for myself and my husband ordered a yellow curry chicken that served with a super small bowl of rice, so dissapointing. The portion is really small for the price we pay in Germany. The lady who served us is a Thai, but the food did not really taste as good. She is very friendly though. Anyway, there is an outdoor seating which overlooking the busy street and also free parking for the guests right in front of the building. This at least is the great advantage. We left hungry :( will not recommend if you are looking for some real satisfying Thai food craving unless they improved the portion and the taste. We paid 31 euro for these two dishes and a 0.5dl apfelshorle - totally not worth it.

There are actually three Phanat Thai restaurants all within a few feet of each other. This one is upstairs, and is the more presentable version of the downstairs take out café, even with bare walls. There are pictures and artifacts of the old country. Our CHF20.50 pad thai was pretty standard in taste, but the presentation was spectacular. Served in bowl resembling a dragon boat, with 6 medium shrimp on the sides, rice noodles in the center, topped with bean sprouts, with crushed nuts on the edge of the dish, topped with a lemon. Not as good a shrimp as Yun Nan. Asked for medium spicy, but next get high spiciness, to give it more kick, if ordering it again. The CHF22 spicy chicken with rice, came with hot chili peppers, red peppers, green peppers, amid shredded chicken. Topped off with an over easy egg. Good presentation, and one of the best basil chicken dishes I've tasted at a Thai restaurant. Ordered a CHF4 Sprite, otherwise would have paid CHF2, or $2.14, for each glass of tap water!

We walked past this restaurant several times to/from the hotel and there's always a lot of people. It just has to be good. The restaurant is small with maybe 10 tables. A few minutes later, our food arrived. But we didn't have plates. We asked for plates and the server seemed confused. We were too. It had red onions which changed the flavor. This was a cross between pad see ew and pad Thai. It had a smokey/ barbecue-esque flavor to it. The portion was massive - it can be shared by 2 people. My husband speaks Thai so that was good but the server spoke some English. We ordered Pad Thai (we usually steer clear of it in the states because they make it too sweet in most Thai restaurants but the server convinced my husband), Massaman curry, chicken and vegetables stir fry, papaya salad, and drunken noodles. Everything was delicious and what we expected, except for the drunken noodles--they were completely different to what we were used to but still very good. I am very glad that the server convinced my husband to get the Pad Thai because it was amazing. My favorite, however, was the Massaman curry; combined with the rice, it was absolute heaven. I was happy. The food is great, prices are very good, and service is quick and friendly. Our family was in their very happy place and ready to explore more of Luzern.

I had the raw vegetarian spring roll with tamarind sauce which was delicious and artful. For main I had the fish in red curry and rice noodles. Both were very good. And on top of this the server was excellent. He spoke English and helped me choose good options. But more than that he was very attentive and service oriented to create a delightful experience despite the fact I was dining alone. I highly recommend this place
