Delicious!! And everything was served with a smile :-) Next time I think I'll book my table before because some people arrived too late and it was still a bit cold to eat outside at the terrace. They also have three rooms with TV and private bathroom (very important from my point of vue). It comes with a breakfast both sweet and salty food. But the joy is in the authenticity, something increasingly rare in the world's premier nouveau riche resort. The building used to be a school skiing holiday dormitory lodging, an old barn. It retains its character and is owned and operated by a genuinely local family, unlike most Verbier restaurants which are staffed by foreign guest workers from France or Portugal, or Quebec or Romania. The cheese is from cows summering not five metres away from where you are eating. The dining areas are small and cozy. I have been a dozen times and it is the only place I have not seen Richard Branson or the Fergie/Andrew set, or any Russians with armed bodyguards. They will do couscous or curries, with notice. but their tarts and croutes and fondues are the mainstay. Nothing gourmet or ambitious, but very satisfying and solid. What helps keep out the Porsche Cayenne crowd is the issue of access. In daylight in winter you can ski right to the door and then down to the resort. At night it is a good 30 minute hike up packed snow. When the road is clear you can drive to the door.

The baby chicken was quite good also. It paired very well with the spicy sauce. The yogurt sauce was a bit too sour for me and overpowered the chicken taste. Also ordered their local beer to try out. It started off pretty light and smooth, but became very bitter after having the chicken. There was also complimentary bread that was fresh from the oven and well seasoned.
