With nice weather, of course! The restaurant is located in the middle of vineyards, and I requested a wine from the area. Our server recommended a nice Fendant from right nearby. And despite struggling a little with English (they don't get many tourists), she was eager to tell us about the terroir, wine, and history of the place.
After ordering while still seated outside, we were taken to our table when the food was about ready. I had the foie gras to start and the seasonal chevreuil (venison). Both were delicious! Serving sizes were quite generous, and I was too full for dessert.
Castel is off the beaten path, but definitely worth a visit. Excellent food and wine at reasonable prices, with warm and efficient service.
