We sat inside, because the terrace was still too cold, but even from inside the view over Lake Lucern and onto the mountains was almost as spectacular as from the Palace. Food-wise we took a set 4-course menu at 59CHF. I believe during the week prices are even more reasonable. The food was excellent, the cook clearly had an ambition to maintain a very very decent standard and service was discreet, fast and extremely friendly. I would recommend this place as a good stopover from the motorway for those who are more discerning about the way in which the take their rest-stops.

Very friendly service, they speak (at least) italian, english and german. The ginger lemonade became my favourite drink! The food is so delicious an simply fantastic. The Park hotel Weggis has undergone a huge renovation including new very modern hotel accommodation wings and spa areas, but has retained its wonderful old World charm. I can highly recommend Sunday Brunch here as a nice alternative to a Sunday lunch! It was just as special, very relaxing but did nt take up so much time. As far as "brunches" go, the selection was extensive, very fresh and presented perfectly. There are very friendly staff at the buffet stations to guide you through your choices.. And I tried asking in English just to test and no problem for those of us that are not german speaking! You are spoiled for choices at the Entree station and you could go back more times to try the big selection, before making a choice of 2-3 main courses( besides the Roast Veal, there were fish and prawns and a vegetarian main course) A small but nice cheese selection completed the savory offerings, and then it was on to the sweets... Which was very dangerous as it was so tempting( see the photograph for just one part of it!) this "station" also included a selection of house made sorbets resting on ice inside a beautiful antique copper pot. There were house made chocolates. A wonderful way to end the meal! All this for CHF 74 per person and the Proseco and coffee was included in the price! We thought it was very reasonable by Swiss restaurant standards. Strangely enough, you did have to pay extra for sparkling or flat water. The weather played its role perfectly and we had a table on the outside terrace with a magnificent vista across the Hotel gardens to the Vierwaldstätter lake. We watched pleasure boats and even a magnificent paddle steamer go by. What was not to like?
