This restaurant was attached to the hotel at which we were staying, so location, location, location. The menu covered all the main bases for an American traveler with family: local (German) specialties including pork, bratwurst, spaetzle, schnitzel paniert, and flammkuchen; salads; soups; kids menu; pizza; pasta; lengthy wine and beer list, including some beer/fruit juice combos that we haven't seen in other German restaurants over the last two weeks; nice desserts selection; ice cream; and more. Service was quick, helpful, and responsive. Setting was nice. Prices were reasonable.
Some of the menu items indicated 'housemade," but my salad was meh, as was husband's pizza and kids' schnitzel and spaetzle, and my flammkuchen mit zwiebeln und speck appeared to be frozen/microwaved. We were the third table at 7pm on a Wednesday night, but the place was 3/4 full by the time we left at 8:30pm. I would go again and recommend to other travelers staying nearby. read more
