Saw some negative reviews, but happy to say we had star service and food and especially the…read morebeers. We are craft beer lovers and always seek out craft beers wherever we travel. We each had .30 liter of different beers on tap and every one was spot on, just delicious. The IPA in particular was my favorite because of all the IPA's I've had on my (so far) 7 week Germany - Austria holiday, this was the best and 'closest' to an American style IPA. The hamburger we had was also very good, we added jalapenos to spice up the burger a bit and it was spot on!

When I think about beer, I don't often think I love beer, but really I do love beer (red wine,…read morebourbon, tequila and BEER). Craft beer! I love pairing beer with certain meals and I love a good IPA. We flew back into Wien to catch our flight back to the states and stayed one evening at Brauhof Wien. The concept may be lost on some, but I actually LOVED the fact that everything about this place was based on beer and the brewery. We were hungry when we arrived and while I wasn't planning on dining at the hotel for dinner, it was late and we ended up choosing to eat here. I was very pleasantly surprised. My dinner was fantastic, every aspect of it. I ordered a small IPA, very tasty in my opinion and I can be snobby about my beer. We both ordered the schnitzel, something I've only ever eaten once before in Berlin. It was so yummy!!! I'm the last source in the world to judge a schnitzel since I don't know a good from a bad, or how it's supposed to be but this tasted great to me. The cold potato salad it was paired with was soooooo good. It's a dish that really impressed me and I'd love to recreate at home, the small chives on top were a nice touch and I noticed the kitchen used them on an egg dish the next morning while at breakfast. We also ordered an apple strudel which was the best of the two I'd had in our few days in Vienna. The atmosphere was calm as it was near closing time 10p, but seemed like a fun spot. I'm not positive I'd say go out of your way to come here but everything was very good and service was nice and friendly. If you are staying here, dining here is a nice option if it comes down to it. I was completely satisfied with everything.

The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, but did not interrupt my solo-night more than necessary. Great music selection that is a mix of 70s-present tunes, that all flowed well together. I love apple strudel and was very excited to finally have some in Austria. This did not disappoint. I recommend it with the vanilla sauce. I also had the schnitzel with potato salad - I have not eaten much here yet so can't compare it to others, but it seemed good. Price - 17 Euros got me a glass of red wine, pork schnitzel with potato salad, and apple strudel with vanilla sauce.

This place was right by my hostel, so I made this one of my "regular" spots for the time I was visiting. It's definitely a dive bar, no question, but the people there are sooo nice! You truly feel like more than just a customer. The bartenders feel less like employees and more like regular joes. They have karaoke night. I can distinctly remember people of all different nationalities singing "Imagine" by John Lennon in drunken harmony. That was a great night. They also have a place for posting notes of different travelers who've visited the bar. This is a good way to leave a memory of yourself after you leave. As an American tourist, I can't say I've tried goulash all that much, but the goulash I had here was fantastic! I can't really compare the food vs. other places because I haven't had much experience, but THIS dish was good! I recommend checking it out at least once. It was located near my hostel, so honestly that had a lot to do with my frequent visits there. My experience was great, but if you had to travel far to get here I can see a less favorable review. 3 stars!

We got the pork version with rice as a side dish since side dishes were not included. The schnitzels were two flat pieces and lightly seasoned and perfectly fried giving you a crispiness with every bite. I really enjoyed this dish. I've been having schnitzels throughout this trip and this was my favorite out of all especially when they offer rice. It's rare to see a place offer rice and that's a fact throughout Europe.

For Austria, the prices were fairly reasonable. The menu, printed in English and German, was loaded with traditional Viennese fare. At first I was going to go with the standard goulash, but then I spied gnocchi in tomato sauce and I was done perusing the rather substantial menu. (I know, I know, Sacrilege ordering Italian in Austria, but hey the stomach wants what the stomach wants). The gnocchi was surprising diversion from the many servings of goulash and sacherwurstel I had had on my trip, All I good think of as I took a bit of my creamy gnocchi was that some one had kidnapped an Italian chief and chained him to the stove...I hope they give him time off for good behavior but not before I have my next visit..yum The Beer is, of course, with a wide selection. This place has a nice mix of locals and tourist so it should fit the needs of just about anyone. Service wasn't horrible, but it was a little slow even by European standards; this might have been because most of customers were sitting outside and I had taken a seat inside. The bar was really cool and I wanted to take in the decor, otherwise, I would have taken a table outside. This is a great pub, and I only wish that I had the time to stop in for a drink later in the evening.
