Why so you ask? ....so having booked a tour taking me from Geneva to the Chamonix valley there was an option to have a the lunch included for an extra 20 euros which made sense being that what we ended up having would have cost around 50 euros. I wish i wrote these reviews sooner so i could explain the starter and desert but all i can say is that they were great. The mains is the dish i do remember, there were two choices and i went for the grilled salmon and it had to be possibly the best grilled salmon i have ever had in my life. Like so delicious i even took a bite out of my friends when she was not looking. The service was superb with it not being so busy we had an attentive waiter at all times. Location is at the foot of the mountains, and right in Chamonix town but maybe a bit out of the way now i am back in England :(

If you are going to get raclette anywhere, this is the place to get it! Why you ask? The presentation! Their raclette heater is beyond beautiful! But enough about the heater, the cheese is fantastic and paired with their huge charcuterie platter and big bowl of potatoes and big bowl of salad it is absolute perfection! If you don't feel like you need to be rolled out of there, you didn't do it right! They give you a huge amount of cheese and so much meat to keep you busy. I also highly recommend their fondue. The fondue here is perfect in every single way. The keep an eye out to make sure the fire isn't too hot and burning the cheese and not getting too cold at the same time. If I remember correctly they use three different cheeses in their fondue so the flavor is spot on! We did fondue delivery from another place a week before and this fondue kicked it's butt! I shared this with my mother and when we got the pot, we thought they gave us way too much cheese but we managed to finish the whole pot it was that good! This is a great local spot and I would recommend it to any one in the area. Cozy up next to the fireplace, enjoy some wine and a nice raclette and you'll be one happy person! When we entered the restaurant, there was a smell of old cheese not cleaned properly from the caquelons, burners or other dishes what should indeed - have been a clear warning for us. We did NOT have Fondue what many tourists eat here but the "Special" of the day - soup or salad as a starter, turkey with risotto on a tomato sauce. The soup and salad where good, the main course too although the presentation of the course was a little unusual - everything was kind of "swimming" in the risotto and the turkey was so cooked you did not need a knife but rather a soup spoon which was also offered unsolicited. It tased good and we were full very easily. Long story short - the food was tasty but we both had belly cramps half an hour later when we were back at the hotel.

It is in my top 3 amongst all the restaurant I have been able to eat at during these last 10 years! The restaurant is typically decorated (with wood everywhere like in the houses of the region) and the waitors are very sympathetical and funny in every circumstances. We ordered starters and main courses for some and main courses and desserts for others and everything was really tasty and typical. Considering the quality of the food, we didn't have to wait too long and we even had a nice little after-dinner liqueur made up with mint. The value for money is good, comparing to other restaurants where you could have basic French fries and a steak for 20€. You should definetely go there, especially if you stay in "La Daille" borough of Val d'Isère!

We stumbled upon this place by accident. We were hiking nearby and decided to check out the town…read moreof Morgex. After wandering through town, we decided to get something to drink and a snack. We saw this place down a narrow street off the main street and it had outside seating and was pretty crowded. There were a lot of hikers sitting outside. We just had beer and bruschetta and it was wonderful. After our afternoon hike we returned for dinner, as we were anxious to try the pizza we had noticed others eating at lunch. We started with wine and a tomato salad. The tomatoes tasted like they were picked an hour earlier. Next, we had the Pizza Diavolo (tomato, mozarella, hot salami and oregano). The pizza was amazing! The crust is thin and crispy, but not too thin. It's baked in a wood-fired oven. Everyone there was very friendly to us even though it was not a tourist place. It was all locals; we were they only tourists.

It came with incredibly delicious cuts of charcuterie, bread and potatoes. For dessert, we had to go light: lemon and blueberry sorbet. And final comment: as the French are not known to accept the idea of doggy bags, I was impressed when the owner cleaned out a container just to pack up my to-go items (which were still delish the next day!)
